Rent-A-Center

"Ordered a couch online through Rent-A-Center, made first payment and signed agreement. A week passes and I haven’t heard anything, so I called the store to find out what’s going on with the couch I ordered. It took three different people to get me an answer because they all claimed I had no agreement signed (even though I had the verification email). Finally the manager gets snotty with me and said “Well, it’s a special order, so I’m going to need verification of ID, your bank account information, and whether or not you rent or own your house before we can schedule delivery.” I declined to do, and asked him to instead terminate the agreement I signed and refund my payment. He then said he can’t do that until the “special order” couch arrives at the store. Nah, I’m not buying that. Just got off the phone with Rent A Center customer service who assured me my money would be refunded within the week and my agreement was terminated."

"I absolutely hate the interaction at The store location on 4737 Hwy 6 N, Houston, TX 77084 with the “manager” Alex. He is rude and disrespectful. We have made 51 out of 60 payments and he calls us like 20 times a day on the day the rental is due. It’s at the point of harrassment. We are always stressed when life comes in the way and we have to make the choice of paying on time and feeding our kids. This should be illegal how they treat the customers. If it wasn’t that we paid so much into the items we would just give it back. I can’t wait for our business to be done with this company. Alex is horrible and he should be sued personally for harrassment!!!!! Horrible Horrible company.."

"They are horrible. I’ve reached out to customer service to make a complaint and I’ve still yet to hear from them. I don’t have an account that is delinquent with them. They call and harass you, everyday!!!!!! Even a few hours if payment hasn’t been received. For me, specifically, it’s $83. I cannot believe how I’m being treated for that! They even come to my house once a week!!!!!! It’s getting very extreme and uncomfortable!!!!!!! I’m a woman and these are men!!!! One time, the manager there got so upset because I was upset it was 7pm at night and he sent people to my house. When I called and complained, he wouldn’t even answer the phone. Kept letting the phone ring! I called the next day and was blocked! They are super unprofessional and they need to have a better system setup! They need a whole team! I’m fed up with this place and I promise I will NEVER use them again once I’m finished!!!!!! Wish I would have read the reviews! Update: I just want my store changed. Called corporate twice. No one has called me yet. Second update: still no call from the district manager. I’m still stuck with this store!"

"I just wanted to take the time to express how happy I am with the level of service I received from the store Manager, Alex Lopez, this man is an awesome leader and definitely knows how to run a business. He called me to let me know I missed my payment. I simply got the dates mixed up but he didn’t belittle me he expressed what needed to be done with a calm respectful tone. I can appreciate that! He could have called with a nasty attitude but he did not! I hope he gets to become a district manager someone day because his positive attitude is infectious. I am wishing all the success Alex. Thank you for my bed!!"

"Worst place , they threaten us and called and called texted us harassing us for payment. The person on the phone is Rude!!! When we told him we would pay them. They even over charged me and never apologized. That is un professional. Management needs to get better staffing. Or better yet shut down Also i forgot to mention they would call you from their own personal phone number and text you threatening."
