"Embarking on my "ONLY FIRSTS IN 2024" journey I found myself at Bleu Oyster Bar and Seafood, a spot that had caught my eye back in 2018 upon moving to Texas yet had never visited. So it took almost six years for me to finally step inside. Upon entry, the cozy interior defied the grand exterior, creating an unexpectedly intimate ambiance that surpassed my expectations. Despite its seemingly fancy exterior, the inside felt warmly homely. Our party of 11 received a prompt and welcoming reception, even without a reservation. Grant, our exceptional server, elevated the dining experience with professionalism, attentiveness, and a genuine smile. He seamlessly anticipated our needs, offering valuable menu insights and accommodating all our requests. Grant's efficiency and personable approach contributed to a flawless dining experience, striking the perfect balance between presence and allowing us to savor our meal. Though one in our group wasn't a fan of the hamburger (an adventurous choice at a seafood restaurant), the diverse menu pleased the majority. Personally, I opted for Devils on Horseback, dirty rice, fried pickles, and onion rings—perhaps unconventional for a seafood spot, but they proved to be delightful choices. The Fried Pickles, Onion Rings, and Dirty Rice were exceptional, though the jury is still out on the Bleu Sauce accompanying the perfectly cooked Bacon-wrapped Scallops (Devils on Horseback). Would def. return to Bleu, but that will have to be in 2025 as I continue my ONLY FIRSTS in 2024. Come follow me and all my culinary adventures and more at colefamilyvalues on I G, the Tok, and the Tube!"

"I love, love, love the oysters! The bread is also a delight! Besides the booth & the floor being filthy when I was seated, the service was great! My waiter saw me wiping the booth down, but never asked if we wanted to be seated somewhere else! If you do decide that you like the bread, let me tell you that is not Pappa's seafood (it's not unlimited) you will be charged $3.99- for 4 small slices! I ordered the fried seafood platter ($38) the fish is basically 1 piece cut up! The crawfish & shrimp were ok... I over a MOUNTAIN of fries! I think that I will just return for the chargrilled oysters!"

"Update: went back for lunch. And first visit was better than second visit. Not sure if it was what I ordered but my poboy was sad. No flavor and build your own. Boudin balls were good. First Visit: Food was good but I wish there was more flavor. The service was not great but we came close to closing so they were doing their closing duties. Loved the quiet atmosphere."

"First off the service was great! Very attentive, kind and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere was casual and fun. The food came out hot and they had good timing in between the appetizers and entrees. The etoufee was the best thing there besides the sauce used to boil the “char” grilled oysters. Improvements: the acoustics in this place are terrible. It felt like we had to yell at our wait staff so they could hear us. The char grilled oysters were ok. I was expecting more. The sauce that came with them was amazing but the oysters themselves were hit or miss depending on which well you picked from. It’s important to note, there are not char broiled in their shells like most places. They place them in a container with a sauce and basically boil them. If I could give 3.5 I would but closer to a 3 for what we are use to."

"We visited this place today for the first time, we wanted to try something different. We had some oysters and scallops, also a Korean beef taco. For drinks we had a sandia margarita and a cucumber cooler. The food was absolutely delicious but the drinks were not too good since they were a little too sweet and they’re all on the rocks, there’s no frozen drinks here. The server was nice and attentive. Here are some pictures of the place, food and menu."
