"Went in to a restaurant that wasn’t very crowded. Sat immediately and ordered two teas. We waited and waited. By the time I wanted to flag down another server there weren’t any on the floor. Finally got up to leave. Of course, waiter waltzes around the corner. He said he had our tea and I said we waited too long, he seemed surprised I’d want to leave after that amount of time. I spoke to the hostess and asked her to relay his service to the manager. He came up and said - it’s only been maybe 5 minutes. No apologies and said very rudely like I was the jerk for leaving. A couple were waiting and asked if they should leave, I left them know just not to sit as his table. Hostess did offer to get the manager but I didn’t want to wait. An apology on his part would have at least kept me from writing a bad review. To the other servers - if you see someone sitting for a while with no drinks - offer to help. We had seen one take a pic for the table next to us. If you have time for that I shouldn’t need to wait 5+ minutes for a tea. Hostess was helpful and if we can get it the food is usually good."

"I returned last night to this El Fenix restaurant, which was an old favorite of mine back when I lived in this neighborhood. At around 8:30 PM on a Monday night, we were the only couple in the place! The staff was super friendly, and I had a great conversation with our waiter, who provided excellent service. He was above and beyond generous with me, because, not only was it my birthday last night, but he is just a very nice person. The food was perfect TexMex fare, For a very affordable price. This will have to return to my favorites list again."

"Great food. It is hard to find good enchiladas here in Texas. I am from Georgia where the Mexican food is completely different. You don't see cheddar cheese on or in anything in Georgia. But the food here is not terrible!!"

"My hubby loves this place. He used to go to the original in Dallas. Food was great as it always is. Wasn't busy but because it's not one of the new fancy restaurants I'm not surprised. Traditional old school. Relaxing."

"Very nice waiter.. i had the veggie enchiladas and couldn't get enough. My husband had the chicken fajitas and it was too much for even him. The free salsa and chips are endless and awesome. And the waiter we had was really amazing. I'm not sure what his name was .. but he was wearing a n95 mask and we were sitted at the table at the end next to the old entrance .. will be back"
