"We love to spend time in Downtown Sanford especially at the farmer's market. This lovely area makes you relaxed but they have plenty of activities on a regular basis. A stop at the visitor center is a must for some cool gifts and interesting books. The trail by Lake Monroe is under expansion and it's coming up beautifully with nice street lights and parking areas all the way to where the Sanford Zoo entrance is located."

"Downtown Sanford has grown into a bustling and happening place. Sanford Ave and 1st Street both have excellent restaurants for your dining pleasure and lots of bars to choice from. The City of Sanford schedules many events throughout the year for everyones enjoyment. Alive after 5, Saturday farmers market, just to list a few. Also, enjoy a pleasant stroll along Lake Monroe. Definetly recommend an evening in beautiful Historic Downtown Sanford."

"The Lake Monroe area is gorgeous this time of year (december-february) and offers well kept trails to walk lake-side along with a great assortment of antique shops, local breweries, and a wide variety of restaurants! A personal favorite is Hollerbachs Willowtree Cafe. The prices are a little on the high side per entree, but well worth it!! If you have an appreciation for exceptional sandwiches, I recently had the red Baron triple and was extremely pleased with the balance of flavors. Each meat was distinct yet added something special to the overall flavor of the sandwich without being overpowering. It's definitely worth a try!"
