Reviews
"I currently live at Provenance and the apartment is nice. But the apartment has recently been acquired and the new management team is terrible, literally college kids could do a better job. I am in the process of releasing and getting a new roommate they cannot answer the phone or there email. I have continually gone over to the office and they still won’t call my roommate back. After a week, I went back over to express my frustration and I got talked down to my the new male manager. Seriously I was dumbfounded my the way he talked to me, like that is customer service?"
"We walked into the offices to get information and received the worst customer service by female in the corner office. The door did not have a sign for leasing office so we tapped at the glass door and asked. She was annoyed with the interruption and seemed upset and waived us in to her office. After we apologized for the interruption she seemed like we were bothering her. If you don’t want to be bothered then you shouldn’t be in the leasing office, where you will get interrupted. At that point we told her never mind and walked out. If this is the type of service we received at the door, I can’t imagine what type of service they provide for student residents. I recommend going with another company who’s friendly."
"Read ALL of this review carefully: Had to give a one-star review. For starters, I can here thumping from my neighbors footsteps above me. The windows don't open all the way you get only a small slips. You would literally have to break the glass and netting to escape if an intruder ever makes past the kitchen. You would have to give up your position to fight for your life. Bedroom doors can be easily unlocked by a coin. By then (hypothetically), if the intruder unlocked your door with knife from the kitchen, and you haven't escaped by then, you're in huge trouble. You must buy your own curtains, especially if your on the first floor, if you want your privacy respected. All of which are safety hazards. The location of some apartments make provenance a safety hazard and break ins easy. The "Blinds" don't block that much sunlight. Fire alarm went off randomly this afternoon and was not informed of a test. The hallway fire alarms needs to be replaced with the fire alarms installed in the bedrooms. Don't know what engineer thought it was a good idea to set the hallway fire alarms at such a high volume. Trust me, you don't want to hear it, they can damage your ears if you stay in the hallway for long enough. There should only be 2 fire alarms on each hallway, and not one at every door. For those that normally study at home and think noise is a problem, you won't be able to study in your room if your room window faces st street or maybe airport rd. If you can't sleep well, pray that your window doesn't face st street or airport rd, because your rooms are dire close to it. Hearing blasting engines are a problem for people living near st street and airport rd. Hearing the walk sign beeps may be an issue for those living near the intersection. Ever wonder what those random sounds were near the airport that can be heard as far as WALC? They are gunshots. This apartment is directly 2.4 miles north of the shooting range. And yes, everyone at provenance can hear them. You don't like gunshots or fireworks, then any apartment or house south of st street is a bad deal for you then. There's also random loud noises that sometimes occur at provenance and other apartments on st street, but i don't know why."
"After successfully moving out of Provance Apartment and ensuring my safety, I still decided to leave this review. If you are seriously considering moving here, please take a close look at what I have to say. I'll list the good and the bad. If you don't believe what I'm saying, then I want to wish you all the luck in the world after moving in. What I'm saying is what I experienced. On the good side: The rooms are newly built and it's close to campus, that's about it. If you want a nice room, you can move here. On the bad side: (Read carefully if you are not American.) 1. Selectively ignoring your email: I only believe what I experienced. Since I was moving from out of town, I couldn't see the room in person, so I asked Jasmine to take a video for me on March 16th, I wanted to see the layout of the room. She said she would send it to me. However, I waited until March 21st and still haven't heard back from any emails. Since I needed to find an apartment right away, this was my only option. I had to choose this place. More than half of the emails sent to Jasmine during the stay she ignored. You have to walk to the office to ask what you want to know in person. 2. Racism: For selectively ignoring emails, Sara in the office did a great job, she would even respond to emails I sent within half an hour. Unfortunately, I use polite language in almost every email and try to be approachable. This doesn't seem to be Sara's strong suit, she replies to emails that don't greet you, and you can sense her impatience between the lines, and she won't send you a single extra word. If you go to the office and ask Sara some questions in person, she won't look you in the eye and answer you, she seems to have something on her computer that catches her eye consistently. If you feel her tone carefully, I don't think you will feel comfortable. Maybe it's because I'm from Asia, and when I've talked to other Asian friends in my apartment, they've all mirrored this problem with Sara. If you're American, I'm not sure she'll treat you the same way she treated me. But I clearly remember one time I bumped into Sara in the gym of provenance apartment, at first she turned her back to me, after hearing someone come in she turned around with a smile on her face, and when she saw that it was me, her smile immediately disappeared. That was the only time I saw Sara's smiling face in the 14 months I stayed here. Maybe she as well was ready to say hello to an American and was frustrated to see an Asian instead. I don't know, I just didn't feel respected. It's as if, after paying almost $2,000 a month in rent, I still owe the office something that could be used for friendly interaction with the tenants. 3. Noisy environment: For the first six months after I moved in, the apartment was working hard to build a new apartment building. They worked very hard on building the house. For 3-4 months they turned on the drill at 6am almost every morning, which helped me get up early every day. Thank you guys, saved me money on an alarm clock. If you reading the reviews are ready to consider moving in, you shouldn't have this problem. It looks like the apartment is already built, so I'm sorry to hear that you'll have to pay for an alarm clock yourselves. 4. Read the contract carefully: when you sign the terms of the lease, be sure to note that if you don't decide to renew the lease for a second year, give the apartment 180 days notice. You read that right, 180 days. I've been searching to see if this complies with Indiana law. If you ignore this requirement, then I'm sorry to say that one month's rent will be deducted from your security deposit when you move out. Remember, it is 180 days. (Maybe they will change to 360 days after saw this review, please read your leasing contract very very very carefully) Conclusion: This is my personal experience and if you are an expat from another country like me, I hope you look at what I am saying. I can't guarantee that everyone has the same experience, but I think this apartment should at least consider a new group of manager."
"I moved into Provenance when it first opened in August 2021, and I had a great experience living there! There were some hiccups in the beginning, but that is expected at a brand new building. Sara in the office was the best property manager I have ever had, even now living in a major city! She knew almost every resident by name, was charismatic, and was very helpful with any issue I had. I had a car accident once when I was pulling out of the parking lot, and she went above and beyond to help me with that! The apartments are a great size, very modern finishes, great features like walk in glass showers, upgraded appliances (that are ALL Samsung), and most importantly the property was always clean! I never had an issue with loud neighbors, packages getting stolen, etc. The maintenance team was amazing also. They took care of every issue I had (which were minimal) within hours, and even knew my dog by name when walking around the property. It is a tad pricy if you are a student, great deal if you are a young professional. The only complaint I would have would be it’s disappointing not to have a pool. Highly recommend living here!"
