First Care Urgent Care - Bedford, IN

"Already knew I tested positive for Covid-19, twice. Made appointment to get treatment as it was Sunday and my normal Doctor would not be available until today. Arrived 10 minutes before appointed time as requested and proceeded to wait 2.5 hours. Finally got in, spent 20 minutes with nurse who confirmed. With my history was looking to get treatment started asap. Dr comes in and tells me they can't prescribe treatment my Dr had recommended to me if I were to contract COVID-19 (Paxlovid). Your Dr prescribed alternate treatment molnupiravir with some story about why shed couldn't prescribe the preferred treament. I looked up on web and found that studies show Paxlovid is superior. Went to get script anyway (still trying to be proactive) and the charge would have been $600+ and I have good insurance. Told the pharmacy to forget it. So I spent 2.5 hours not feeling well in a waiting room where I hope I did not infect anyone else (I was wearing an N95 mask), an additional hour answering questions and getting told they could not prescribe the best treatment for NOTHING! Other than, what I am sure will be a hefty bill for my trouble..... Update: Called my Dr this morning. Answered some questions, he called in Paxlovid script at $0"

"I’ve used First Care several times for myself and they’ve always been so helpful. The staff has always been caring, kind and knowledgeable. I’ve had to take my child there (soon to be 4) a few times as well and they’ve been patient and understanding with her. We saw NP Reynolds most recently and he was the absolute best, he was fast but informative on our care. We love first care and will continue to use it."

"First experience I’ve had here. The lady at the front counter was very polite and helpful. The nurse was very nice also. The doctor was great to deal with. He actually listened to what I had to say and didn’t try to contradict me. If I could get that kind of team to deal with every time I absolutely would be going back."
