Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham/Trussville

"We had such a great stay here! Everyone was so friendly, from the front desk to the housekeeping staff to the servers at the restaurant. The food is great, and those omelets are the best. The room we had was a King Suite with living room, and it had 1 1/2 baths. The bathroom in the bedroom is private. There was so much space! And it was clean. Even the guest laundry room was clean, and the price was cheaper than most hotel guest laundry areas."

"We stayed several days as part of an area wedding party. Overall, given they are doing some updating, the place was clean and welcoming. The front has what looks like a chocolate fountain in the lobby, which I'm sure will be a very nice fireplace or something when done. Not really in the way, but just be courteous when passing other guests going by. Also, their pool is closed for construction at this time, as well. Looks nice for when it reopens! Rooms are nice and clean, and fairly up to date. A refreshing place to relax or just sit to talk when not sleeping. Beds were comfortable, and our room (apparently not all) had pumps for soap, shampoo, etc... which is nice for both the environment and easy access in the shower. The front desk staff is extremely friendly and helpful! Their system had a glitch when we checked in (not good), but one the staff offered to take us to our rooms, and run up the keys once the system rebooted, instead of making us stand there and wait. Every time we came in, we were welcomed back warmly, sometimes by name if it was one of our regular contacts! They have a restaurant for meals. We used them for breakfast, a basic version of which came with our wedding package, and it was decent. Not great (runny eggs) and very limited menu if you don't do eggs. We had a couple different servers, both friendly in their own way - though quite different. One was welcoming outright, the other was fun, but you had to work to crack her open. Being the subdued northern farm folk, we didn't crack the second one open for a couple visits, then she opened up and was fun. Both did well in serving! Overall, a nice hotel at a decent price. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and good value."

"The staff that was available was awesome. However, Hilton needs to do better in upgrading and checking appliances making sure all is working, hiring more staff especially when there is a reunion or conference. Long wait times for dinning, running out of food is not acceptable. Hotel is in a great location. Staff was very very welcoming but there were very few available. They were overworked and still kind. As a whole the company could do much better. The pool needed cleaning along with the carpet. It was not to bad but i have stayed at better Hilton Hotels and all should be treated the same."
