Sheraton Birmingham Hotel

"Pretty nice hotel with friendly staff and close to many attractions. Went here for a conference and stayed overnight for a night. Our room was super clean! The only complaint is that depending on the floor your on, the quality of the room you may vary. Our room was older and looked like it had not been updated in a while. Over a great experience! Breakfast is not free but there is a cafe and $9 breakfast served as early as 6:00AM!"

"We booked our room a year in advance in early February, for the location next to the convention center. An entire year. When we arrived, the hotel staff told us that our room was still being cleaned. It was a little strange, but they told us that it would only be a half hour or so before we could come back and it should be done. We said that was fine, and went to get lunch. Once we were back, the staff tried to tell us we had never had a reservation there in the first place. They had booked out our rooms, and it seemed like several others that were also there for the convention center. They were fully intending to just send us away until we showed them several screenshots and receipts, and they had to go get their manager. The staff member who told us the rooms were "just being cleaned" bold faced lied and told the manager he had never said such a thing, and they literally had to send us to another hotel 20 minutes on the other side of town to stay. There, we saw dozens of other con goers who had also had their rooms booked out to what looked like a meeting of some rather important people gathering in the lobby at the time of our ejection. Not to even mention that they took our names and told us they would be waiting for us at the new hotel, but when we got there, they didn't have our names or the room reserved, because the Sheraton hadn't even informed them we were coming. Save yourself the time and the effort. The Sheraton looks lovely, the staff do not care and your room might not even be there when you get there. Stay at the Marriott they sent us to instead. Why do you even have the ability to book a room ahead of time if the staff can't even keep track of booked rooms?"

"The front staff when we checked in Friday afternoon and out Sunday morning were very nice. The room when we entered was clean, we didn't have any trash bags and I went downstairs to the desk and ask for some and was told I'd have to find housekeeping.They never offered to call them. I had to check three floors before i found them and they only gave me one. I didnt see housekeeping again are while stay.We had to reuse towels and I had to purchase trash bags for the room so it would stay clean. Also, when I booked I was told the pool and the fitness center were open, but when we arrived there was no access to them and the staff didn't know anything to why it was blocked off. The overall hotel looked nice, and was and was quite, and convenient for its location but it was not what I expected for what I paid."

"Jr Executive Suites are great for small meetings in your room. Do not recommend external rooms facing interstate due to noise level if you are light sleeper. Great location for conferences. Valet prices increased this year. Guest Services rings to off-site. Go to front desk if you need assistance."

"I stayed at this hotel for a cheer competition. I had weird notes left at my door for my daughter, the a/c in the room wouldn't stay on, and the best part --- NO HOT WATER in the whole hotel. I went to the manager and he was good, he played if off like he was absolutely shocked and unaware. Then said give it an hour and it should be on. 2 hours later still no hot water, then the next morning still no hot water. The best part of my stay was when I left. For what you spend to stay there, you'd definitely think they'd provide hot water. It wasn't just my room without hot water either; coaches and other parents were at this hotel and they didn't have hot water either. Don't waste your time and money."
