"We have decided to take staying at this location off of list of places we stay as we travel. We have been here before and it was very well maintained but not any more. The carpet in my room was very unclean, the tile floors throughout the building were so sticky which was very unpleasant and most of the staff had a “do not care” attitude. There was no toilet paper in our rooms and when housekeeping came they only provided fresh towels and did not change and make the bed or vacuume the floor. The swimming pool was shut down and we were told it has been like that for a while - big hole in the ceiling of the workout room with a water bucket underneath. Very disappointing stay - needs a lot of work."

"Hotel needs updating, but we had a pleasant stay. The toilet in our room made crazy noises, no shampoo or conditioner in the shower, rooms needed a deep clean. However the night time reception was nice and the check in process went smoothly. Atrium area is a cool place to hang out. The plants are beautiful and the fish were cool to look at. I get the feeling that this hotel was probably a lot nicer 20-30 years ago. They’ve just struggled with upkeep and cleaning. Many issues in our room could be resolved with a quick trip to the hardware store, but somebody has to do it!"

"I came to this hotel 2 years ago and it was a disaster. Back then I was told by the GM that renovations were coming but last week I arrived to a hotel even worse than it was in 2021. The roof is literally falling in all over the property, with black mold all over the place (including the AC/Heating units). The room was not clean with broken lampshades and missing cabinet handles. Our room was infested with fruit flies, especially in the living area. The pullout couch was disgusting, covered in candy, trash & hair. Wallpaper was falling off every wall and the vents had all been destroyed & pieced together. I assume the $100 per night hold is for the restaurant because I don’t think I could have done $100 worth of damage to that room. Outside the hotel the button for the handicap door was falling off & the dumpster was a disaster which caused trash all outside. The ice machine on my floor flooded the entire room it was in. Mold & water everywhere but housekeeping just walked past it each day. The front desk basically shrugged their shoulders when I told them my issues. A simple “I’m sorry about that” was too much to ask of them, even for an upper level honors member."

"The place has gone downhill. Spots and scratches on furniture, carpets and fabrics. Lamp malfunctioned. Toilet paper holder fell off the wall. Celery brown and carrots old and slimy. Koi pond very dirty. They give food for guests to feed the fish anytime. This is bad for fish health and water cleanliness. No flat sheets on the bed. It comforter and fitted sheet. The comforter smelled and clearly wasn't washed in along time. I asked for clean sheets. The staff was overworked and short handed. Ruth Chris is still very nice. With a refresh and maintenance this hotel could be spectacular again. And they were pretty expensive for the shape it was in."

"We had a great experience right from the beginning. The gentleman who checked us in on November 6 was super friendly and made us feel welcome. I wish I could remember his name. The hotel was very pretty. They had just emptied the pool and put fresh water in it. It has a Ruth Chris which was very good and convenient. Surprisingly the breakfast was good and the rooms were very large and clean. We’re coming back Monday night and the following Monday. Definitely will be staying there every time we come."
