"The wait was long there was a very sweet pregnant African American girl who helped me with my order very good. There was a young white girl with glasses very bubbly and sweet. The manager was a black lady with hair in a ponytail she fussed at the white young lady in front of everyone which was unprofessional about making a racist comment. The manager was terrible and ghetto and these two workers are amazing I will NEVER come back to the Lake Station location this happened in 02-25-24 @ 330pm. Service was slow but those two girls were a pleasure!!! That manager is awful"

"It was busy and there were fast! The food was fresh and good. Great customer service, even with a small staff."

"This is at a truck stop and though they had signs that said 5 minutes parking for Popeye's, it took longer than that to place an order and about 40 minutes to get my food. Also, I know things are expensive, but it cost me over 40 dollars for 12 pieces of chicken and 2 large sides . Thirdly, the red beans and rice(which was the MAIN reason I went there, was not the same as usual and seemed almost soupy."

"This Popeye's was not busy when I came in at 4:00 p.m. I ordered a three-piece tenders with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were warm. My biscuit was warm and the tenders were cold as if they had been sitting out all day. Shame on you. Popeyes Don't you teach your employees about food safety and foodborne illnesses? I was so disgusted I had to throw the chicken away. Didn't even bother to try to return it. What's the use?"

"This Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is inside a truck stop --1201 Ripley Street Lake Station, Indiana so it feels somewhat dirty. However, there were very nice ladies behind the counter, but they were burdened with telling everyone they were out of Mac and cheese and their new Premium Strawberry Lemonade/Chilled Strawberry Lemonade drinks. The chicken sandwiches were steaming hot as were the cajun fries. The best part of the meal was their Blackberry and Cream Cheese Pie - a deep-fried, bubbly turnover-style crust with a piped filling of cream cheese and blackberry puree. The pie came nice and hot. The crust has that thin, crackly, crispy layer from deep-frying with a standard flaky pie crust underneath -- but NOT overfriend like other fast food pies. Inside, I found an even layer of soft, melted, slightly-sweet cream cheese next to a layer of sweet, tart blackberry compote. Blackberry is probably my least favorite of the standard berry pie fillings. It tastes a bit more muted to me than say strawberry or raspberry. I think it's just particular to me though because other people seem to like it quite well and describe it differently than what I taste. Overall, Popeye's Blackberry and Cream Cheese Pie delivers on a crispy, flaky pie crust, mellow cream cheese, and tart blackberry filling. I love the crust and like the filling."
