"A Memorable Stay at Ludington State Park and Cedar Campground Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying overnight at Ludington State Park's Cedar Campground, and it was an experience we won't soon forget. This state park, often heralded as one of the most popular in the Midwest, truly offers a vacation within itself, with an array of natural wonders and activities to enjoy. Campground Experience (Cedar Campground): ★★★★★ (5/5) We made our reservations online through the state website, and the process was seamless. Upon our arrival, we were pleased to find that our site, while electric-only, was well-suited for our 36-foot RV. The late arrival was no hassle at all, thanks to easy access to Cedar Campground. The campground itself is nestled between Beechwood and Pines campgrounds and offers a range of amenities that made our stay comfortable. There are 110 modern sites with electricity, and for those who prefer a more rustic experience, eight tent-only sites without electricity are also available. The presence of mini-cabins, modern showers, and restrooms added to the convenience factor. We couldn't have asked for more. Park Exploration: ★★★★★ (5/5) What truly sets Ludington State Park apart is its diverse range of activities. With over 18 miles of trails, visitors can choose from leisurely 30-minute walks to more vigorous 3-hour hikes. We took a hike and were rewarded with stunning vistas and the chance to immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of the woodlands, water, and dunes that surround the park. Conclusion: ★★★★★ (5/5) Our stay at Ludington State Park's Cedar Campground was fantastic. From the well-maintained campground to the abundance of activities within the park, we couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable getaway. Whether you're an RV enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking a fun-filled vacation, this state park has something for everyone. We highly recommend Ludington State Park and Cedar Campground to anyone looking for a memorable outdoor adventure. Don't miss the chance to experience the beauty and excitement that this Midwest gem has to offer. We can't wait to return for another visit! Thomas Corrao #straycompassphotography"

"Ludington sate Park is beautiful. Filled with dunes and a fantastic lakeshore. There are many nice campsites, but they tend to be a bit shallow. The campground is heavily wooded so there is no lack for shade. The camp loops have access to trails which we walked more than one. I highly recommend camping here."

"The trail we took along the shoreline was gorgeous and easy enough for my 3 grandkids to do without much complaining. I loved walking through the trees and then getting a glimpse of the lake."

"I have been camping in many Michigan State Parks and this is definitely one of the best. It can be difficult to book a campsite here, but it is definitely worth it! I have stayed at the Pines campground for the last two years. The northern campsites here tend to be a bit more open and less noisy in the evening hours. There is very limited cell service in this campground, but it makes for a very relaxing camping experience. You are able to get cell service in some campsites in the Beechwood campground. This is mostly along the lake, I believe. The campgrounds themselves have plenty of trees, shade, and wildlife. The bathrooms are cleaned daily and do not seem too unpleasant. The Cedar campground has a campground store in it where you can purchase firewood, ice, and other essentials. There is also a small ice cream shop here as well! The main beach is very spacious and has a beach shack where you can buy ice cream and snacks. It also has a dog friendly portion on the beach. I take my dog camping every year and it is extremely important that I go somewhere that is dog friendly. This campground definitely has many options for families with dogs. There are plenty of trails such as the path to the Big Sable lighthouse, the river walks, and trails around Hamlin and Lost Lake. I rented a paddle boat at the Hamlin Lake beach shack and was able to take my dog out on the boat as well. I highly recommend trying out this campground!"

"One of my favorite state parks in Michigan! We try to go here at least once every couple of years. This park has multiple Lake Michigan beaches, as well as a warmer beach on Hamlin Lake. Great campgrounds, multiple hiking trails, and miles of dunes. You can also kayak or tube down the Big Sable River."
