"If you love country cooking like me , this is another good country style food place in Shoals area . Nothing to explain here if you love good ole cornbread with that country fried steak or chicken or fish etc. , creamy mashed potatoes , some beans and greens . They all are good . Its simple delicious and puts a big smile on your face . The service is good , staff is friendly and the food is great . So if you are in shoals area then check this one out of many country cooking places in Shoals . Its a good one ."

"I love Garden Gate, but the food is hit or miss. Sometimes you get a lot of fries in the serving, sometimes you get far fewer. Sometimes you get a lot of lettuce in your chef salad and sometimes you don't get very much at all. The sandwiches are not put together well. It is great if you stick to the daily specials."
"GREAT SOUTHERN HOMECOOKING AT IT'S FINEST! The Fried Chicken Livers and Fried Chicken Breast got a scald on em like grandma's! Great selection of sides...taters and gravy, turnip greens, peas, casseroles, cabbage, omg so much good food and each plate with 1 meat and 3 sides w/ biscut or cornbread is only $9.99!!! FIVE STARS!!"
