"Run away!! Dont live here! I've lived all over Kzoo, and the US. NEVER had any issues. Theyve entered my apartment, without permission, on several occasions. Sent a half naked, obviously high maintenance guy. Kids will kick your dog, threaten you, demand that you pay them, give them stuff, just to leave your apartment. Its basically a ghetto."

"I lived in White gate apartments. Back in October the roof caved in and it ruined most of my belongings. I couldn’t stay there for two nights. Just was so scared. I moved in December and should have only been charged cleanup fees. Meanwhile they charged me $1100 even after the roof caved in they wanted to say that I had damages but the only damages were from the ceiling. Very poor customer service skills because they also wanted to breach confidentiality."

"So pretty much if you are looking for a place to party and not really have to worry about trashing your apartment then this is the place for you! When I moved in the apartment was already very ran down, the bathroom was falling apart, the carpet is stained and there is mold on the ceiling that leaks by the door. while I stayed here I had about 7 very large parties never had a problem with the neighbors or police and the landlord never said a thing. the windows aren't sealed correctly, bugs get in and rattle when you close the front door. The maintenance is horrible, there was a time where I was taking a shower and I came out and the maintenance guy was in my apartment which was was really weird. So like I said if you are looking for a cheap place where you can just not care about then this is for you."

"I was hesitant to move in after all of the complaints online, but the rent was cheap and it was across the street from my job, so I decided to take a chance. The carpet was not replaced before my move-in, and I think the maintenance in general takes a while to do anything. There was an issue with some maintenance people where I was home and they entered my apartment without knocking. I was pretty surprised, but they explained that they thought the apartment was vacant and were going to replace the carpet. Since that mix-up, I have not submitted any recent maintenance requests, but everything else seemed to be in decent repair and recently painted and in more or less decent condition. AC and all major appliances function well. I could tell that the carpet had been cleaned. Overall, I would say I have had a positive experience. The online portal to pay rent is easy to use. The few problems I have had with management have been dealt with very quickly and efficiently, and any complaints placed overnight with the answering service were followed up with promptly the next morning. Utilities, except for electricity, are shared among building tenants--they calculate how much to bill each apartment based on square footage and occupancy. So far, it's been about 30.00, but I imagine that will go up some in the winter with the heat bill. I understand there was a recent change in management at the complex that resulted in the resolution of a lot of the problems previous people have previously posted online. While it isn't a perfect apartment, it's quite decent for the price and I haven't had any major problems, and the management has been very polite. It definitely beats some of the places around the corner."
