Stillwater Grill Brighton

"My sweet husband took me on a date tonight to Stillwater for a much needed night out. It was wonderful! No loud music or TV, no dog begging but pretending not to, no dishes to wash. And our waitress, Jennifer, was awesome. We explained that we have been working at a deep spring cleaning for like 10 days straight gearing up for new carpet, and we needed to just relax. She listened! She timed our courses perfectly allowing us to have a leisurely meal, not rushed or working to get new butts in our seats. She allowed us to breathe. The next time we go there. We will be requesting her. Thank You Jennifer!!! The food was good. One thing though. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip appetizer which I have always loved. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. They have changed the recipe. It is now more like a queso dip. The original is 100% better. I wish they would go back to the original. And just a side note. They need to sharpen their steak knives."

"Disappointed! We hadn’t been to Stillwater in some years so we were anxious to be back to have a good meal. We ordered the soup special Salmon Chowder, steak tips with grilled salmon, Scallops The chowder when brought the table looked unappealing; grey in color making it not appetizing. The first taste was very fishy and too much tarragon. Unfortunately we sent it back. The steak tips and grilled salmon were disappointing. The salmon looked slightly grey. Not the typical pinkish color. Looked more like chicken breast. The steak tips were lathered in too must sauce. Normally the tips are seared and expected a good sauce. The sauce was more like a BBQ sauce. Too sweet. If it was supposed to be Cajun we couldn’t tell. All in all we were disappointed and not likely to return. Generally we are not this picky, but given the price point of the menu items, we would expect better quality"

"Had a fun, quiet late night snack. Wasn't busy, got right in. Hot chicken sandwich was awesome, almost too much to eat. Baked potato was massive and amazing. Our server recommended the Cheboygan Red, much to my pleasure. Be glad to get a seat here."

"This is one of the nicer restaurants in Brighton, they aim to be the premium destination for special dinners in town. It has a fancy vibe - the waiters are dressed up, the tables are beautiful, the interior is clean and well decorated. The pricing reflects this. It's because of the high standard the restaurant sets for itself that I give it 4 stars instead of 5. The service was standard, not special. The staff were nice, just not exceptionally attentive. The food was very good, but pricey. I loved the Caesar salad and the spicy tenderloin tips. The bread was also very memorable. The chicken Alfredo was good, not mond blowing. In the summer you can sit outside by the Millpond. There is a huge parking lot and no stairs to get in."

"Met a friend here for a yearly get together. Place is spacious but yet warm and inviting. When they seat you you get standard laminated menus but they also give you a tablet to browse through which I found more helpful that trying to find my glasses and use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu. Great idea thanks, I wish more places did that. Ordered cream of mushroom soup which was very tasty. Hubby n I ordered fish n chips they were good portions but we both found ourselves eating just the fish and leaving the fries. Our friend got the nut crusted chicken (I think it was pecan but am not positive as I'm just calling it "nut" ) she said it was good and did take leftovers home. Malbac wine was nice and smooth. We actually did not map Stillwater properly so we parked in the "downtown" area and had to walk over, it was chilly but glad it worked out as the area was decorated for Christmas and we would have missed that sight had we not made the mistake. We were only in this town for the dinner. It looks like a great little town to wander in when it's nice out."
