"I went to learn how to swim. I think I would need another session to learn more about swimming but it was fun and I will sign up again for another class to learn more."

"After two weeks as members I have to say we won’t be renewing next month. We joined for the basketball courts so our son could practice but the kids (not just ours) get pushed off the floor when groups decide to take over the baskets. No asking, no conversation at all they just take over. Too bad that kind of behavior is allowed here. Definitely don’t recommend for families."

"Beautiful YMCA. I’m a member of the Boll but am considering switching to the Downriver Y as my home location. Compared to the Boll, there is much more comprehensive equipment, sauna, parking, and longer hours! You get so much more here for your money."

"I enrolled my son in the swimming program. I did not like the method of training at all. They waste a lot of time without teaching the children the basics of swimming and skills during lesson time but rather waste their time. It is not a cheap program either, paying about $20 for lesson that is only 45 minutes long. I felt that they were taking their time just to add more hours and more cost. There is a coach named Chris. Apparently he is also acting manager but unfortunately a very disrespectful one as well. He does not treat people with respect and his style is very mean to a certain group of people, and I I consider him a racist. I consider myself the same age as his mother and the way he treated me was very bad. I was drinking carbonated water and the way he spoke to me to tell me that it was forbidden to drink was bad and disrespectful. He could have respectfully told me that the drink could be hazardous (even though it was just water) but to demand and humiliate me with his way of speaking to me disregarding the fact that I was kind and spoke with manner towards him."

"This is a very nice facility from the looks of it but the cost is outrageous for something described as a non-profit volunteer organization. As of October 2023 it costs $51/month, yet the pool swimming lanes are NOT AVAILABLE on Tuesdays and Thursday’s until 6pm! The swimming lanes should be available the whole time the facility is open imho."
