About the Business
Stottlemyer Early Childhood Center is a family-centered institution located at 34801 Marquette Street in Westland, Michigan, United States. Our dedicated staff includes nurses, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and a psychologist to meet the unique needs of each of our students from birth to age five. We offer tuition-free programs for qualifying families, as well as affordable tuition-based preschool for those who do not meet state and federal earning thresholds. Our specialty programs cater to students with special developmental needs, providing highly skilled and specialized programming along with opportunities for inclusion in general education preschool programs. The SXI Program offers a wide range of accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology to support every student's individual needs.
We prioritize mental health and well-being, encouraging both students and staff to take moments throughout the day to reset and practice mindfulness. We offer before and after care for students to accommodate parent working schedules and seek continuous parent involvement through participation in our parent policy committee, school events, and volunteer opportunities in the classroom.
Please note that students must be picked up at their scheduled dismissal time, as we do not provide after care. Late pick-ups are causing concerns, and we encourage families to utilize resources like Champions for after care services. Additionally, parking in the fire/bus lane is prohibited, and we ask drivers to drive slowly through the parking lot and park in assigned spaces to ensure safety.
On Monday, April 8, 2024, a solar eclipse will cross North America, with Michigan being in the 95% eclipse zone. While Wayne-Westland Community Schools will have a full school day, we will incorporate educational opportunities related to the eclipse into our curriculum.
Join us on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 5-6 PM to meet the staff and learn about the in-person, virtual, and hybrid options available to help students earn their high school degree. We offer a range of assessments during the month of April, including the M-Step, SAT, and PSAT, which require both in-person and virtual learning attendance days.
