"Ive been using this bank for 7+ years and love it. However today I called and immediately was spoken to very rudely by a woman named shalissa. After I explained my issue to her she treated me like an inconvenience and I dont feel like I did anything to deserve that, my question was pretty simple as well. I understand everyone has bad days but I dont think the way i was treated was appropriate. Unfortunately I just hung up and called again to speak to someone else who was much nicer. Usually the representatives are very nice every time i call so I appreciate that but was really taken aback by my first encounter today"

"My wife has been a member for years. We have traditionally gone to the Westerville branch, but have had to go to the Dublin branch twice. The first time (years ago) I remember not being particularly impressed with the service. Today we went in to add me to her account (which we were told we'd need to do to open a HELOC) and were told they couldn't add me because they close at 1:00. Yes we came in at 12:45, but I can open an account "in minutes" online, but apparently can't be added to one in 15 minutes in person? Now I either have to open a whole new savings account online or drive 30 minutes (again) another day to add myself to her account. Credit unions have their perks, of course, but between stuff like this and BMI's basically nonexistent after-hours online support I've never witnessed the "amazing customer service" everyone hypes credit unions up for having."

"Made a deposit in the drive thru today (one other customer present, in another lane). No greeting, no no nothing. Not one word. First time I've ever had such an impersonal experience at the the Dublin, OH branch. What happened to simple customer service? Wow. Just sad."

"We have all of our loans with BMI and have for numerous years. We refinanced our mortgage with them a couple of years ago and Michael and Nick in the mortgage department were great to work with. We also recently purchased a vehicle and Cathy was so quick in getting our pre-approval done for the dealership. The loan showed up on my online banking account the very next day. Try getting this type of service from one of "the big guys". I cannot say enough good things about this team- BMI all the way!"

"My mom, a customer for nearly forty years had over $30k of fraudulent charges over the course of a year made against he BMI account. BMI gave less than half back to the affected accounts. In my estimation their services and the bylaws they claim prevent them from doing more are not enough. They could offer elder education and get people more fluent with modern banking. Not to mention giving more of the stolen money back. They can write off losses but just passed the expense on to my elderly mother on a fixed income. Not cool. Not classy. Not distinct from how one would treated from a big bank. She’s been a customer for so long but it doesn’t feel like they ‘have her back’ much at all. Your money isn’t safe here. Consider another bank and don’t buy this whole ‘member’ language."
