"MBS remodeled our kitchen recently, and we had a really good experience and are very happy with our kitchen. We got quotes from several companies, and MBS was by far the most reasonable. Brian was straightforward and easy to work with and we were really happy with the design. Russ was the contractor who did most of the work and honestly we liked getting to know him! He was very thoughtful, and experienced, knowledgeable and made sure to consult us frequently. The project finished slightly underbudget, and in the approximate time frame they gave us. We had heard a lot of stories about terrible kitchen remodel experiences but would very much recommend MBS!"

"From the start everyone was polite, professional, knowledgeable. Design appoints were quickly made, materials selected, and work began almost immediately thereafter. The workmen were ultra respectful to my house and property. I'm exceptionally satisfied with my new kitchen counter, large stainless steel sink, and tiled backsplash, and new tiled bathroom floor, new bathtub/shower enclosure, and bathroom sink. A worker well cleaned every work area at the end of each day. An installer worked every day until the kitchen and bathroom were finished, and they finished within the time frame that was quoted. I am 100% satisfied with MBS overall, and highly recommend MBS to others"

"We hired them to do the restoration of our large historic porch. The job quote was reasonable and the job started off well. Near the end we had trouble getting them back out to finish the work. Later we found that instead of replacing a large amount of the rotten wood that they re-used a lot of the trim and when the painting company came they found that a lot of the work was bad and had to be redone. We haggled back and forth with the company and after having another contractor look at it and find more rotten wood they finally agreed to fix their errors but made us pay half the price. This is after we had already paid almost 20k to have the job completed in full. Keep in mind that this job was supposed to be done in almost 4-5 months and it took over a year. Maybe they are good at new build work but I wouldn’t let them near anything important at this point. There are plenty of companies out there trying to do good work. The only reason they got two stars was because they came back and fixed their mistakes but still charged for the materials and half the labor. It took their guy 10 hours (around $300) to do that final repair work. Materials were a lot more than that."

"Contracted to replace/install flashing around three sliding glass doors, per the contract windows were to removed and flashing installed. Window's weren't removed and when installing trim around the windows they used 2-3 inch brad nails which fractured the frames of the windows, the leak is now 10 times worse and when contacted to repair the damage they caused, they informed me that the windows were old and it's not they're fault, three other contractors said they could do the repairs and were cheaper but I figured going with the name brand that's been around for a long time I would get a better service don't waste your money hire someone else."

"Brian Hunter of Michigan Building Specialties was very instrumental in getting our project done this year. If not for him, I doubt that the project would have been done. Due to the Covid pandemic, it was near impossible to get anyone to even look at it. Brian stayed with it and had it completed to our great satisfaction. I highly recommend Brian and his company!"
