"As a provider it has been over 6 weeks that I have not been able to access the portal here in Michigan with Caresource taking over HAP Michigan Medicaid clients. This means I am not able to submit claims electronically or check the status thereof. My messages concerning this matter have also not been returned. Not a way to keep providers wanting to contract with an insurance company."
"STAY AWAY from CareSource Marketplace. I need a very expensive medication that I made sure was on their formulary before I enrolled. Previously when I was with Humana and Anthem this drug required yearly prior authorization. After three months of confusion and conflicting information I am now told the drug requires no prior authorization and I can order the drug, but there is no guarantee that they will cover the medication. Because I was on this medication previously I know that without an insurance discount the out of pocket cost for this will be six figures for one month. It’s Russian roulette—get the drug and then find out if I’ll be ruined financially. It’s shameful."
"Awfull, Awfull care especially dental. I was on medicaid and my siblings still are. Allmost no dentistry, will accept your insurance and they refuse to pay for anything. My sister was denied having her wisdom teeth pulled even though they are coming in SIDEWAYS. Only when they inevitability break, get cavities and shes writhing in pain for hours and we plea for someone, anyone to help her. Do they cover it, shes has had to endure this torture 3 TIMES. Basic preventative services like floride paste they don't cover. I've had bad cavities all my life, which could have been stopped and saved them money in the long-term if they let me have basic services other insurences cover. I have ADHD and out of nowhere they decided they didn't want to cover my meds. Only found this out when I went to pick them up. Forcing me into a situation where I had to go cold turkey when it was dangerous. Me and my provider went back and forth with them. They wouldn't even tell us why they decided not to cover it. I had an idea why, cost I decided to try a lower dose. Which is cheaper and supprise, they cover it. Medicare dose not care about the health and safety of its medicare patients who deserve good healthcare."
"My husband and I signed up for this plan through the Marketplace. It was the most reasonable plan available for our limited needs. Throughout the year we have had to fight for every claim to be covered properly, Customer service Representatives are unhelpful and not very knowledgeable when it comes to procedure. They also make you go through a lengthy written appeal process every time a claim is a needing review due to their mistake. Toward the end of the year they mistakenly terminated our coverage blaming it on the marketplace. Marketplace Representatives said there was no problem on their end and showed us as properly paid and covered. Due to the CareSource mistake claims were denied forcing the doctor's offices to resubmit to them. CareSource then went back and reprocessed every claim that they had already paid from the beginning of the year and in some instances paid less than the original amounts already sent to the doctors. Now doctors are coming at us to try to get the extra amount they think they are owed. I used to work for a third party administrator paying medical claims and I know things here are not run properly. Stay away!"
