"This was a great stop for a quick meal before a show. They were super busy, but our waitress was cheerful and fast, and the maitre'd was both carrying trays of food and yet still taking time to check on how people were doing. We had the fish and chips and the crispy shrimp and shared, and they were both really tasty. There were 3 good-sized fillets of fish and about 9 shrimp."
"Not sure if the issue was ordering during lunch instead of dinner or the fact that I got take out (or both) but Republic was extremely disappointing. I ordered the Fish and Chips as well as the Seafood Chowder. The Fish and Chips came with a single piece of fish which might have been fine if it was a REALLY good piece of fish. Unfortunately, this was the opposite of really good. It was extremely dry and each bite of fish had to be chewed about a 100 times before it could be swallowed. The seafood chowder was a bit better but that isn’t saying much. It was very watery and didn’t have much taste to it at all. I did not finish either dish, which when I pay almost $30 for a single person for lunch, I would at least the food to be good enough to finish. The staff was friendly when I arrived and they were the best part of the whole experience."
"This was a night out for all four generations of women in my family. An early Christmas give to see Hamilton and Although I would definitely go back I think we had an off night. We waited an just over an hour for a table after being told 20-30 minutes. There were seven of us and they don't take reservations. They were out of many items on the menu both food and beverages, my third choice the Mac and Cheese w Chicken ..........meh. Sauce was good very very good but the chicken tasted like it was a frozen microwaved piece of meat. Brussel sprouts on the salmon platter were bomb! Pork tenderloin (or cutlet I can't remember) and short ribs were also amazing. No matter what order the apple pie dessert it was fantastic. Also a big fan of the white sangria."
"Ate here one night before a show at Playhouse. Definitely make reservations. Drinks were great. I had the best Caesar Salad I've ever had in my life!! My entree was good, but in the pricier side."
