Don's Lighthouse Grille

"It's always a fantastic experience dining at Don's. Everything from the food down to the service and atmosphere is nothing short of superb. We always request to get seated in Abigail's section if possible due to her professional and friendly service. She's exceptionally knowledgeable when it comes to both the food and wine menus and always attentively tends to our table to ensure our drinks are topped off and that there's nothing else that she can get for us, all while maintaining a smile. The food is always delicious and has never once disappointed or failed to meet expectations. Sat at the bar for happy hour recently and had a delightful time thanks to Dawn's warm personality and remarkable bartending. I've started going here instead of other similar local restaurants such as Pier W, etc. due to how consistently Don's hits the mark and delivers on a phenomenal, memorable dining experience. Looking forward to many more meals here."

"Had dinner here as part of a group of 8 diners. Our waiter was pleasant and attentive, though I do wish that the unused wine glasses that were part of the table settings were removed early on when it was evident that most were having cocktails instead of wine. They were in the way. My husband had a wedge salad and the seafood stew. He enjoyed his wedge, but found the pappardelle in the seafood stew to be clumped together and not looser noodles. He didn't care for that at all. I had a Caesar salad and the steak oscar, ordered rare. My dish arrived closer to medium rare & I was fine with that that night. Three others in our party also ordered steaks and theirs were equally overdone. One was close to sending hers back but decided not to trouble anyone over it. The three star rating was because given the small size of the menu, the quality of care put into the cooking should have been better than it was."

"Service started out a little mediocre. We found out it was his 1st day working on his own and by the end of our service, he was doing great. There was a gentleman that came and sat at the bar near us and smelled like he poured a bottle of cologne on. The hostess gladly moved us to another table. The food was delicious! Had the brushetta to start and center cut sirloin and delmonico. They were cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful!"

"Ordered steak and lobster, the lobster was really good, I ordered my filet mignon medium, it came out medium well, we were on a tight schedule and I did not have time to return steak, so I ate it. Our server Caroline was friendly, I was hoping to have a watermelon martini but they did not have liquor available to make. No suggestions were made from server of a comparable drink."

"Very nice atmosphere and service. I recommend making a reservation as it may be a bit crowded. The food was delicious and the drinks were well crafted and strong. We went for our anniversary dinner and everything was lovely. They surprised us with a free dessert (cheesecake slice) The meal portions are larger than anticipated for a standard gourmet restaurant, which was a pleasant surprise as well. The food was flavorful and seasoned. The lobster mashed potatoes were a hit for us! We ordered the salmon and the walleye which did not disappoint. Bread served before the entre was largely sliced but delicious with a sweet butter. I'm planning to go again for happy hour which looked like a nice end to a long workday."
