"Doctors in the er talk about you, right in front of you, like you’re just there for pills. They don’t care weather they help you or not, they get paid the same. I started going to a different va facility. Those 2 doctors should be ashamed, but I’m sure they don’t care. You would be better off going anywhere else."

"I can only speak to building 410 and the care that you can expect to recieve while treated as a residential patient. However, the facility as a whole seemed insanely under staffed. I admitted myself for mental health reasons and was basically treated like a prisoner during my stay. I had gone in with the intention of clearing my mind and to discover why I have certain issues. Before I drove two hours there I was told that there was a workout facility, which there was (an elliptical). With very restricted hours. They preach about "whole health" during your stay, yet don't allow you the time or means to be physically healthy. This whole program seemed to cater towards those in legal trouble that had to be there or the homeless. They pretend to cater to everyone's specific needs, yet they put you into a group that all go through the exact same classes. I was there for 3 days and only saw an actual psych doctor for about five seconds upon my arrival for introductions. She was... interesting. They seem to care more about how they intend to punish rule violators than they do the actual mental and physical well-being of their patients. Most of the staff were friendly enough but could do nothing about some of the rediculous rules and guidelines set by people that will probably never even set foot in that building. Overall it was typical VA healthcare. *one of the reasons vets just eat guns"

"The Dayton VA quite literally saved my life. I've had my medical needs met there since 2007 and I can't say enough about how much I appreciate all of those involved in my care. The improvements are continuous and they strive to be cutting edge and relevant."

"I visited the emergency room today for a sore foot. Dr. Gabriele, nursing staff, xray staff and pharmacy staff were thorough, efficient and provided excellent timely medical care! I greatly appreciated their professionalism and concern! This is the care a patient wants! Thank you!!!!!"

"Behind the VA Hospital is Lakeside Park (sometimes called the VA Grotto) and it is worth a visit. The roots of this park go all the way back to the 1860s and 70s just after the civil war. It fell into disrepair during the 1930s but is now being restored. It is quite pretty with a few very historic structures."
