"I have a medical issue called Anchylosis spondylitis. I had knee surgery for the wrong disease. I was out of work for seven months and I’m a small business owner. I was getting better and was be able to work again. Instead of using a credit card or barrow money from my mother I decided to pawn my Honda gx390 air compressor that I paid well over a 1000 for which it was used. Still worth over 1000 dollars. This pawn shop on 98 north caught on fire. I called and the line was disconnected. I didn’t receive not one phone call about the fire and my air compressor got destroyed due to the fire. I have a very hard time walking. I went up there to see about what’s going to be done about it. Mike was the manager and said we can replace it or I can pick out some tools to do a trade. Never said anything about making a payment on my pawn that there is no pawn. It’s burned. It’s gone. Why pay on a pawn that’s burned. I went there a week later to see manager mike again. Mike look at my ticket again on there computer and didn’t say anything about paying on my pawn. He told corporate about me trading for a few drills and tools that was worth couple hundred bucks. I said no. He ask for a invoice on my air compressor. Sure. I went to my file cabinet in my office and got the invoice and brought it up the following week. There was a new manager and he told me mike got promoted which is great. New manager said I didn’t pay on my pawn. I’m thinking what pawn? My air compressor that is in a dumpster that’s burned? I told him I didn’t get one phone call or voicemail about my air compressor burning up in that store. I told the new manager mike never mentioned about me paying 125 on my gone air compressor. I would never ask a customer for payment on there new roof I installed when there camper burn at my shop. That’s crazy. I would find my customer a camper the same one that burn in my shop and not ask them for money. That’s why I have a garage policy insurance Incase my shop caught on fire. I would of definitely call the customer and told them there was a accident and there camper burn down. So the manager gave me corporate number. I called and two days later I get a call from there district manager and told me I’m out of luck. He said I can pick some stuff out and I would get a employee discount. I’m like what??? I explain I called after the fire. Phone was disconnected. I didn’t receive any calls or voicemails mails from American pawn. I went there two times and spoke with mike. Mike didn’t say one word about me paying on my pawn that my air compressor is in the dumpster. I feel like I got scam by this company. I feel it’s not right. I was trying to build a relationship with this company since I own a rv repair company and I buy lots of used tools for my company. Definitely would never do business with this company and I’m going to file a small claim court. I will let the jury decide on this situation. I also took pictures of the tools that has times and dates that I was there for proof. I took pictures of the tools that was going to be traded both times. My lawyer knows about this situation. Definitely would never use this company again! Unprofessional and not a business to do business with because they will scam you dirty."
