"I hate giving the Margaritaville cottages such a low rating, because the place doesn't deserve it. My wife, daughter and her family stayed at a 5 bedroom "cottage" in late Sept. The house was beautiful and spotlessly clean. As other reviewers have stated, it was like we were the first family to use the place. The grounds and complex is maintained perfectly. I wish I would have asked for the pool to be heated ahead of time, but it was great too. It was the perfect vacation spot for the first couple of days, and then the weekend came. When renting a large house you expect people to have parties, and that's fine. However, there was a Party House full of young people across the lake. You could here the Loud, Obnoxious, and Offensive music starting right at check in. The music could be heard echoing across the development 2 blocks away. Security was called and the music was turned down a bit, but after a couple of hours the volume was increased again. Security was called again at 11:30 PM and the music was turned off. The next afternoon the music started up again. The language in the music was so offensive that we couldn't let the kids play in the pool, we could hear it in the house. Security was called again and the music was turned down but still loud enough not to allow the kids to play in the pool that they were so hoping to do. That party was so loud, that I can't believe security didn't take any control of the situation. This is supposed to be a family resort that you could feel good about bringing your family and friends to. Now I understand that this may have been an isolated incident and event. But if it happened to us, I can surely happen to you too. So, until Margaritaville is willing to get a handle on these situations, and enforce the rules that all of us renters have to sign, I will be hard pressed to return or recommend staying here, because you just don't know what you will get. It was five days of bliss and two nightmare days, but we paid for seven days of bliss. That music needed to be shut down, period."
"After booking a stay, my account was charged immediately for the entire amount of the stay. The following day I canceled the reservation. After sending an email, I was told it would be 10 days for a refund. After 12 days, I emailed was told it would be 30 days. I placed a phone call to Vstays and out of 5 conversations I spoke to one person willing to help me. He confirmed that his company did charge my account for $1,700.00 & were not supposed to. However, no one had the authorization to refund the monies. My bank is currently handling the situation since we are now all most 4 month in of still no refund, apology or anyone from upper management contacting me as requested. I will never rent from VStays. The level of disappointment in their lack of customer service, knowledge and handling this situation if beyond disappointment. (I had to give one star to make a post. Wish they had negative stars) Watch your account when booking!"
"I will never book with his company again… The manager, Matthew Brittain, had terrible customer service. He was rude, unkind and unprofessional in all of my dealings with him. I had an issue where my daughter was left alone on the day of our check out and his company allowed people to enter into our condo without even knocking. This caused much anxiety and stress for my daughter as well for me as she called me, frantically not knowing why someone was in the cottage especially when she was there alone packing. Our relaxing morning became extremely stressed because we ran late due the intrusion and unsafe situation of a man entering with out permission or even knocking from their company. The check out time at the condo was at 11 and we left at 11:15 due to the delay. We waited outside 15 minutes for the cleaning service to come so we can talk to them about this and they did not come to clean so we ended up leaving to head to the airport. Matthew Britain would not return my call and he also charged us a late fee for leaving 15 minutes late due to their company causing us to be late. When I emailed and called and left messages for him to him about this, he never would return my call. He very rudely respond to my email and would not address the issue of safety or stress and anxiety that it caused us. Actually, the only thing he said was , “The fee stands. I have made my decision so what you have to do.” I have never in my life had such poor customer service. Two grown adults should be able to communicate and this issue needs to be addressed of safety, so I would not recommend booking with this company or deal with this Manager ever again.!"
"Never ever use vstays unless you want the worst experience of your life. If I could give negative stars I would. I made the mistake of leaving a bad review for Margaritaville but now I have realized it wasn't the resort but rather vstays and Ace hospitality. We had several issues including being overcharged for a cottage that we did not originally book, dealing with ant infestation in the kitchen and upstairs bedrooms a completely broken balcony where the floor was collapsed in sections, a broken garbage disposal and electrical breaker that continuously would shut off anytime we used an appliance which resulted in enough needing to call maintenance several times a day for the entire week we were there. Our hot tub broke in the middle of our stay they never sent anybody out to fix it until 12 hours prior to us checking out. Our pool light never worked neither did the pool alarm. This is a very small portion of what went wrong during our stay. We went to the front desk several times, but we were never offered a change of cottages even though the place was empty. The small refund we did get we had to fight for to replace all the food list due to the ant infestation. No one at the front desk would provide us with a manager, and when attempting to recover compensation for our food rather than speaking to a manager they took my phone to the back to show their bosses the videos and footage of the ants. After our stay I wrote a thorough letter to Mathew Brittain, explaining our horrible stay and requestion a refund for at least half our payment since nothing worked properly and we were provided a horrible cottage, unlike the one we chose and booked. Matt is apparently the "VP" of Ace hospitality. His email response was: "Again thank you for the feed back, per the terms and conditions attached if have the ability to move you if we need to. We did credit you back the 2 nights for the issues that you had incurred, we will be doing nothing further." That was cut from his email. When I asked to speak with someone higher up, here was the next response. "I apologize that you feel there is a tone, that is not the intention at all. With that being said there is no one above me, so I will not be able to connect you with anyone else." I have never met someone in charge of a company so unwilling to try to fix a horrible situation. This wasn't us paying $150 for a nights stay at a holiday inn. Our week cost us upwards of $3000.00 for a bug infested, broken unit with amenities that did not work and we're not fixed. This could have been handled so many different ways, but instead now I'm forced to go through the better business bureau to hopefully get the refund we deserve. **Upon taking the time to read through reviews after posting mine it seems Matt is a major downfall to this company and the reason for so many unsatisfied guests as well as workers that fear doing the right thing. Im am certain Matt isn't the highest I can go in this case and I'll be sure to pass along all the complaints about Mr. Brittain. DO NOT STAY HERE but if you do, never ever book through vstays or ace. Mathew and his entire company are absolutely out just for the money and not for their customer's happiness or enjoyment of the property."
"It was a terrible experience with this company. Do not waste your money with Vstays. Rent directly from Margaritaville at rentyl.com. Vstay rentals are run down as they are not properly maintained. The pool heater is not functioning, two TV's do not work as the remotes are missing - without a remote you cannot control the TV, the trash is left out for days as the company does not pick up the trash daily, there are broken window shades throughout the cottage, a broken pool gate, and non functioning lights around the pool. More importantly, if you have an issue with your stay, you will not be assisted. Speaking with Amy, she said she was the manager; she said she saw the numerous complaints made about the heater not functioning in the pool and said, If you don't like your stay, you can check out." Spending over $2400 on a cottage for my son's 1st birthday, I wouldn't expect a response as that."
