"I think the individuals giving reviews describing these homes as "shoeboxes" or "ugly" are not the target market, and are displaying their lack of architecture knowledge and its history. Certainly, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but realize that the majority of us love the design of these homes. I would give the design a 5 star rating all day long. It is striking to see an entire neighborhood of homes representing a mid-century aesthetic and presence. It's impressive and stunning to see them all together. Where Botaniko loses points is in its chosen location. Most glaringly are the lower cost and older condos and homes in the surrounding area. Granted, once you are in Botaniko, the landscaping obstructs the view for the most part. I have to wonder why they didn't build this community along South Post Road, as that would've been more in line with the price point and target buyers. Botaniko is also not zoned for Cypress Bay High School, but Western instead. This is huge issue for families with kids attending, or about to attend high school. The pricing of the properties is very high considering the location. This is probably why the development looks unfinished. Looks like they might be having trouble finding buyers. If the smaller homes would be in the 800K range, that might be more palatable. Would I live in Botaniko if I had the means to? Most likely not, because there is still a child in the family attending high school. Also, for that much money, I would prefer to live in Weston proper (Weston Hills, The Ridges, etc.). Yes, I can't stand the Mediterranean architecture of most of the homes in Weston (talk about UGLY!!!), but it's a better deal."

"I was walking my dog around the block last night on the NW side of the job site and I smelled the distinctive scent of human fecal matter and urine. I looked over the fence and sure enough the construction trailer's sanitary waste line was being disposed of into the ground. That means there was no storage tank hooked up to it. Tighten the heck up guys."
