"I was hesitant to leave this review because I really wanted to give this place a chance but this is totally unacceptable. We have lived here since end of June 2023. Day 1: old security lock (couldn't lock our doors at night.) Oven blew, had to be replaced. Dryer broke, had to be replaced. Shower head broken, had to be replaced. Month 2: Neighbors boiler blew, flooded our carpets for 2 weeks. Had mold growing on our walls and multiple plumbers claiming to fix it. Present: Washer Is broken, shower head is broken, garbage disposal is broken and we are the only apartment to have no running water. We pay $2k a month for no running water, I can't shower or do my dishes. I work graveyard shifts at night and I can't even come home and clean up. The office just shrugs their shoulders. Easy for them because they go home to their fixed homes. Update (nov 1.2023): The issues have been resolved, the only reason I leave a higher review is for the maintenance worker, Julio, who has been consistent with us in our repairs. For instance, he replaced our sink today in a timely manner. I think, as some people have mentioned, with the right people and consistent maintenance, this place can turn around. I would note as well as keeping more frequent response times with the residents. Keeping us in the loop is important. Also, it would be a good idea for the tours to leave a note for people to come to the Macalpine place as there are no active office employees stationed at the Breyley at this time. I have had to redirect at least 3-4 different potential residents. Thank you."

"Horrible company. It has gotten ghetto smells like weed, good luck getting any service as the office moved down the street. We finally left and they are trying to charge me for grout, it is actually caulking, which I had a work order in to replace for months but they never did it. Once you move out they won’t answer the phone or emails and will ignore you and send things to collection. The management of this complex really needs to decide if they want to run this place to the ground or actually do what they are supposed to and manage the property. Take care of your good paying tenants and don’t jack prices way up just to have service go waaaaay down. I forgot to mention just before we finally left we had a rat that got in our place and I have a young child. I was calling everyday to get this handled and they would send pest control over and over only for it to just keep coming back. They would fill a hole and it would be back, my husband slept in the living room to try and catch it. After one month it finally died in the ceiling and was smelling up the apartment. It finally decomposed enough to roll onto the AC vent and was dripping with liquid from decomposition. My husband and I cleaned it up as maintenance takes months to come to your apartment. We were gone a few weeks later. You have been warned."

"I really like living here but when I called maintenance, I took them days to ever fix my AC and I had to fix a lot of stuff in the apartment all by myself, YouTube really helps me with that. Ice machine, the light, the fridge, the bathroom on more than one occasion. The shower! I'm not sure if there was black mold in my apartment but I wouldn't be surprised. I have respiratory issues and I think after moving out there might have been black mold in my apartment because now I can breathe a little bit easier. Sad, nice place but too many issues"

"My first of two years at the Breyley wasn’t so great. That summer our A/C unit wasn’t working and it was extremely hot as you can imagine. It took them nearly two weeks to get a new one installed as I only had a few fans to try and keep the place cool. Then later that year, the unit next to mine, their water heater had some sort of malfunction or explosion or something, and the water seeped into my apartment and covered the floor in nearly the whole unit. There was at least half a foot of water in the kitchen and living room area. The bathrooms would generate mold in the showers, I’ve cleaned it so many times but it keeps coming. All in all, it’s not the worst place to live, management responds quickly, most maintenance issues were handled to satisfaction. Friendly community, nice pool and grill area. Also a tennis court if you play. It was a decent experience for my first apartment, but I would explore other options first if you’re interested in this place."

"Edit: The right people can make things change. In the last month or so we have seen MAJOR improvements as well as a new property manager who seems to care. Our street lights have been fixed, the tennis court is redone, the fireplaces have propane and most of all we got keycards! Tracy has done many improvements as well as the new staff here on site and I can speak for a lot of residents when I say it’s appreciated . It’s still a work in progress but this def makes this place much more attractive and a better place to call home. I went from looking for a new place to happy to stay here in less than a month … and I am renewing my lease :))))) ————————————- Don’t move here is an understatement. First off there is NO tennis court. Complete lie. Hasn’t been one for over a year The pool house is ALWAYS locked. The office lies to residents everyday saying they will fix it. The pool is also often locked and you can’t reach the office by phone so you need to go there (1 Mike away at another complex) to complain. The maintence people have been caught red handed twice taking items that belong to a resident from the pool. One was a cooler and another was my own propane tank. (Which is another thing that is a lie. The BBQ tanks haven’t had propane in them from May to July. In July the residents bought our own tank and the maintence guys took it. They said they didn’t until we showed them the camera footage of taking it) There is also a problem with the fact that during the day the pool is used by past tenants that no longer live here. And the office just says “we are doing what we can” There is also no working door on the mail room. It’s just an open screen door with no lock or handle or screen Stay away from this scam of a place. As you will see they responded to my review with an email. When I emailed that address Two weeks ago nothing happened"
