"We arrived to stay for a month at this so called resort. it was very poorly cleaned when we arrived. It was a horrible experience. We never could get ahold of the host. Then when we finally got ahold of the property manager she was very unprofessional and rude. They didn't fix anything. Our TV didn't work most of our stay. We had no garbage bags at all. We couldn't even get blinds in all of our windows. The floors are rotted from water sitting under them. We had roaches and ants everywhere. The so called couch had fleas. The washer and dryer doesn't work it takes your money. Then they proceed to have random people well children actually show up three days after the fact to fix something. I also got called names by the property manager because she doesn't know how to run her property I do not recommend this place if I could give it 0 stars I would"

I found my new little hideout that haves a great dock.. Hopefully you'll have better luck fishing then me.. Fish are there for sure. "Larry & Lisa are wonderful hosts. They were very responsive from booking through the entire stay (5 nights). They were fast to get back to us with our reservation confirmation and kindly accommodated every request we made. Larry and Lisa even had delicious home-made treats waiting for us in the fridge of the fully equipped cozy kitchen upon our arrival, and gave a good-bye souvenir to our son to cheer him up, as they learned that he happened to get sick while vacationing. The grounds of the Englewood Lighthouse Resort are well attended and pleasant to walk around - with cozy and clean cottages, pretty landscaping and cute details, pleasant and short walk to the private heated pool & the private pier with picturesque sunset. We had very nice time there, and are going home with great memories!"

"I always used to be anti-Florida; then, 6 years ago, I discovered Englewood and The Englewood Lighthouse Resort. When I arrived on that long-ago day, I was greeted with a lovely note written by the owners' young daughter, along with homemade cookies and a hand-drawn map of the property. I have been returning ever since. These days the treats are a bit fancier, but the owners still make sure that personal touch is still there and that everything is perfect for your stay! It is a little home away from home! During our stay, Larry was around without being intrusive and, when I locked myself out of my cabin at 7:00 a.m. (I was on a smoked brisket mission and forgot to check the lock), he was a mere phone call away to "save the day" ... and my brisket! This year not only did I rent a cabin, but my daughter and her husband rented a cabin also, and a group of their friends rented the main house. It was the perfect combination of availability to each other, with space for each to explore on their own, as well. I cannot imagine going to Florida and staying anywhere else. It is genuine old-school Florida. What could be better than waking up early, walking down to the dock (which you can see from your porch) and watching the world wake up? Please consider staying here...I will hate sharing, but you won't find a more lovely place to stay or friendlier hosts!"

"We had a wonderful time here the past couple days! This place shows the real beauty of Florida. The cottages are not upscale. They give you a taste of old Florida. They are peaceful, clean, and comfy. If you are looking for a big fancy motel this is not the place for you. If you are looking for beautiful, private, quiet, clean, friendly, and cozy than this is perfect! They do have a bigger Key West type home also for rent that can accommodate a larger party. The property was so beautiful! The cottage was so cute and clean. We met Larry and he was very nice and showed us to our cottage. Inside there was a balloon that said "congratulations". He remembered I had told him we were celebrating our anniversary! Also in the fridge he and his wife left us a bag of goodies that had amazing homemade Mango bread made from their trees and other goodies! All very yummy and very nice of them! While there we enjoyed the dock, great fishing (my husband caught a mangrove snapper), the pool, grilling (they provide a full gas grill) and the beautiful sunsets! It was also nice to have all the cooking and eating utensils inside the cottage! Thanks and hopefully we will be back one day!"
