Sta 'n Pla Motel

"Mold in bathroom and along baseboards. Pee stains on mattress and mattress cover. Dirty and thick dust on ceiling fans. Air conditioner smelled like mildew and stale air, so much so that we couldn’t use it. Their photos are from decades ago, it doesn’t look anything like their photos now. Pool is terrible, didn’t see one person swim or hang out by pool the whole week. The majority of the clientele are transient lower end druggies that have no money and renting a place to party for a night. Reminds me of places we would stay when we were late teens early twenties and broke. The only positive is the location. Much better option across the street at Devon Shores that’s been fully renovated/restored for a few bucks more."

"Staying here right now. Amazed after reading the above reviews about moldy bathrooms that nothing would be done about it. The shower is gross. Period . The air conditioning return has layers of dust."

"I love these old motels. Every year there are fewer & fewer. They keep bulldozing the good old quaint motels of the 50s and replacing them with new modern high rise hotels that cost 2, 3, 4x as much. Sta n Pla was clean refreshed and had a small kitchen. Perfect place to Uber from the airport, Instacart some groceries, walk to the beach and chill. Great place to enjoy the old Clearwater vibe and budget my family has enjoyed for years!!!"

"I booked these accommodations for our family vacation with my husband and toddler months in advance. It was an absolute disappointment. We booked for 5 nights and left after the first night. The washroom was gross and we could not imagine bathing our toddler in a rusty stained bathtub or even showering in it. The property was clearly poorly maintained and seems ownership literally slapped on a coat of paint and called it a day. The pool looked old and unclean and we were told had a layer of paint floating in it the day before we arrived. Also there were electric lights hanging over the pool with is a HUGE safety hazard. Photos were clearly outdated and had none of the outdoor amenities. We were thankful to receive a refund for the remaining 4 nights we had booked and that we were able to find other accommodations. I would never stay here again. It’s truly unfortunate because the property has great potential due to its location."

"Me and my man stayed here for almost a week, upon arrival we were blown away at the view of the bay from our rooms windows!! We felt like we were on a boat it was beautiful. The back deck was definitely our favorite part. The wildlife around the bay were so fun to watch and observe , beautiful birds, and lizards on the tree, as well as getting to watch the fish jump from the bay! It was a quiet and relaxing environment with absolute prime location. Less than 5 minute walk to the beach and all the greatest locations to eat, drink, and shop, we didn’t use our car at all on the island! Only downside was the bath and bathroom sink were clogged upon arrival , so the water drained slow. But otherwise, great stay for a great price and we will definitely be back again!"
