"Came to the Jewelry department to exchange a wedding band for a smaller size. There was a holdup over return policy, which is understandable and the manager that intervened was able to help us. However, we were very calm and asking for help, and the man that initially handled the transaction was incredibly rude and dismissive to my fiancé at every step. While the manager was sorting it out, he pulled her aside to lecture her about how foolish she was being for not expecting a no. Nearly brought her to tears in the middle of store. Other employees were able to help us, but the treatment she received until then was completely unacceptable."

"Don't know why J C Penney sometimes gets a bad rep. I've shopped there for years. They have great sales and a wide selection of brands and styles. I picked up a half-dozen Christmas gifts in 15 minutes. While it can be difficult to find someone if you have a question, the checkout process was easy, efficient and fairly quick."
