Plato's Closet Altamonte Springs

"Horrendous customer service or should I say lack there of. Walked into this establishment, said hello to the “robot” of an employee and was abruptly told to put my stuff on the counter. I said hi again thinking maybe they didn’t hear me and still was not greeted in return. The employee just stared at me blankly and recited the same command. So I just accepted that this employee had no interest in greeting their customer and put my items on the counter. My items were distributed between 4 bags with roughly 25 items in total, all nicely folded. 4 mins after I received the welcome text, I got the text that all of my stuff was complete. This seemed bizarre because not only was I told it would be 10 mins, but because there were so many items. When I walked back into this establishment, the same robot of an employee recited and sped through the script of “thank you for coming in today, there were a lot of great items...”. Did not look me in the eye once and was so blatantly unfriendly. I agreed to the purchase and was given my cash. I said thank you and told the employee how surprised I was by the quickness of the process due to how many items I had. Naturally, they coldly replied with “yeah well it wasn’t a lot”. So I received the same 4 bags of clothes back (with a couple items missing due to being purchased) that were all still nicely folded. So with only the small window of a 4 min time frame and all of my clothes still being folded, it is extremely hard to believe they were even looked at. It’s evident that this employee just didn’t want to do what they were being paid to do which was work. It doesn’t even bother me that most of my items weren’t purchased. I personally just wanted them out of sight. And I understand that Plato’s uses a database to determine what’s “in” and of value. However, that just furthers my point of my items not being looked at/considered. Since majority of my items are brand new with tags still on them I figured why not give Plato’s a go before giving them away. I have absolutely no expectation of any kind of resolution nor is one necessary. Just want to let the public know what to expect when visiting this establishment. And yes, people can have bad days so it is possible that the embarrassing lack of customer service I received yesterday was just a reflection of said bad day. But if that isn’t the case then please do better."

"I've never been to Plato's closet and the ladies, JuliAnne and Abbi, at this location were so pleasant and knowledgeable and made my first experience so comfortable. I'm a housekeeper and clients give me clothes and shoes all the time and I missed out on years of potential business through Plato's and all the fun styles they have to offer. So thank you again and I'll be seeing you all for the foreseeable future! ♥️"

"I will give a 5 because not all of the ppl there are horrible. I go there often maybe about 2s a week I believe there is a manager there has short black hair above her shoulders she is very professional and attentive I’m sorry don’t know her name but I know she worked on Black Friday was handing out the numbers outside. My last visit on 12/19 was horrendous it’s the same group of girls the music selection playing is vulgar using bad words. All of them are rude alllll sitting behind the counter on their phones not paying attention to the customers I could say one them was the only one working the floor I know she a girl that had a hat on or some sort of cap thing black girl . I asked one girl to please help me with the perfume and she seemed annoyed that I wanted to smell them . Previous visit same girls having conversations about sexual things and fouls conversations. I don’t like to give reviews but this time I had too. You are close to my house and I love going there but I will start going to other Plato’s closet. It’s a shame that one group of girls can ruin others girls hard work."

"Horrible customer service and immature employees. The two "teenage" girls (not sure if they were actual teenagers or middle schoolers in disguise with their attitudes) who I brought my clothes in to look over didn't even bother. Literally just handed them right back to me and wasted my time while making comments under their breath about my items as I tried to look around. With that being said, never again will I even step foot in this Plato's Closet. They don't deserve your business. They don't even respect the people who give them merchandise to begin with. They turn a profit on items and treat us sellers like we're second class citizens if we're not dropping off high-end Louis Vuitton with the tags on brand new (and they'd probably still offer you 1/16th of what you paid and turn around and sell it for next-to-near retail value). Meanwhile half of the clothes are Shein or Romwe which is cheap garbage that no one wants, hence why it's sitting on your shelves forever never being purchased. Or the Target brand Wild Fable which is literally being sold for maybe $1-$2 off retail value brand new."

"This is the best Plato’s Closet in the Orlando area in my opinion. They have a great selection of plus size clothes (which so many Plato’s don’t have) and their store is always very clean. The staff is friendly and great at helping out. It’s almost an hour from me but I don’t mind making the drive!"
