"Shortly after moving to WH I became pregnant. I found the front office staff at the Women's center to be incredibly rude and unaccommodating. I needed some labs done and was sent to the main office, then told to go to the women's center, then sent back to the main office. They just didn't seem to have a clue what was going on. And once the lab results were in, they refused to fax them to the referring physician, which I have never encountered before. When I finally made it to my first prenatal visit, I waited 1.5 hours after my appointment time before Dr. Pierre Louis came in, and only after I told the nurse I would need to leave soon. Her bedside manner was completely lacking. Though this is my 5th child, I am a high risk pregnancy and need extra monitoring and referrals to MFM. She said MFM in Orlando (over 1 hour away) could handle my whole case, which is not an option for me with small children at home. She then told me I would not get anything above the once a month visits (despite multiple losses, stillbirth, and delivering preemies at 26 weeks) until I was at least 24 weeks. When I expressed my concern, she was unphased and simply stated that she was qualified and wouldn't do anything extra until my "fetus was viable." I know how important those early months are in getting to the point of viability, so this made no sense at all. I was told to come back in 10-14 days for an ultrasound. Well, ultrasound tech couldn't get me in for over 3 weeks. I was told appointments book early, that there was nothing they could do. Apparently I should have known this and scheduled before seeing the doctor?? Not real sure. Needless to say, I have found another doctor, and it's totally worth looking outside of WH to find quality care. No one should be treated like I was."

"I am new to Winter Haven. I am currently in town for work. I needed to have my annual exam completed and talk with an OBGYN about fertility testing. I sent an appointment request online to be seen by Dr. Edna Pierre. Her staff contacted me and set up an appointment. About one week before my scheduled appointment I received a call from the staff stating that the Dr. would not be in and they needed to reschedule my appointment. I understood and allowed them to reschedule for two weeks later. Again a week before my appointment, I received another call from her staff stating that that she would not be in the office on the date of my appointment and they needed to reschedule. I expressed my frustration at the time and stated that I would just find another Dr. The lady on the phone pleaded with me to allow them to schedule another appointment which I reluctantly did. So about one week before my scheduled appointment guess what happened? I received a call from the staff stating the Dr. would not be in on the date of my appointment and they needed to reschedule me. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. Needless to say I did not schedule another appointment and chose for find another doctor instead."
