"Two days ago, I went with my daughter to buy a bike and we had a very good experience, so I decided to go back today with my son, to look for a new bike for him. There was an employee there to help us pull some bikes off the shelves and when we finally picked one, I noticed that the seat was loose and the shifter was not working, because of a poorly installed cable, so I let him know. Immediately, he went off to get help (I guess he was in training period). After a couple of minutes another person came and instead of helping us he was rude and discourteous, telling us that we could easily do those fixes at home with some cheap tools. Of course we did not take the bike, mainly because of the bad predisposition of the salesman. This person should be working in a place with no contact with customers, the store lost a sale because of him."

"This was my first time ever to an academy sports and to this facility. After a frustrating stop at two other stores to find ammo for my handguns and some cleaning supplies to NO fruition ,Google suggested I stop at my local Academy sports store. Since it was on my way to a real gun store, I thought why not. Very clean store. Everything was tidy in its place. It looked like it was ready for inspection. I walked around the whole store just to get an idea of what they had for merchandise to sell.I can't say I was impressed , as to be honest I feel that there's another sporting store that has a better selection overall, but they had what I expected for a sporting good store and their prices are pretty on point in my opinion. I was blown away by their ammo selection. I did not expect how large it would be especially in a sporting good store. Kudos to you guys! I have a world war one Mauser form my great-grandfather. Very difficult to find ammo for...and you guys had it ,Bonus! I'm not going to lie I was impressed with the amount of different varieties of the most common brands of handguns that were available for purchase. It looked to me like there was a good 35 ft of glass case filled with various name brands. if you want to call it that.. of the various well-known commercial handgun manufacturers products. Not to mention rifles and shotguns and bows also. I was really impressed. There were less than a half dozen of us in the store at the time ..I went in the early afternoon and there were just two of us in line to check out . The person ahead of me had a lot of products, and I was waiting for a good almost 10 minutes I'd say. I was disappointed that nobody else could service me until the last minute when someone noticed me and brought me up front, of course the cashier could have called somebody up also for me but I think he was a little bit overwhelmed to be honest. And the girl checking me out did apologize to me twice which goes a hugely long way to cushioning and to be honest,lessening in my mind, a negative situation on my part. it's my only complaint that I'm sure could be easily remedied with a little bit better attention paying by the employees. So for an overview at least in the ammo department,as I did not buy any other things or sporting goods ..but as far as ammo and handguns ..you get a four out of five stars as far as I'm concerned.. for the generous selection of ammo and handguns,and especially for the knowledgeability of the gentleman that was behind the Amo counter, He's a real public face asset to your name brand.. professional looking and acting, with a great attitude, and even great or knowledge, that made you say.. yeah this guy knows his stuff.He needs to be recognized for that. someone I'd want working for me. And I will again reiterate how neat and clean and in place everything was in the store. You guys are on your game ..keep it up!"

"Picked up my order for 1hr round trip and only got one shoe for each size. Shipping label isn’t available on the app/website for return by mail so I had to return it to the store. After returning the items at the store, the amount of money that I received for refund was less than what I paid. Talked to the rep almost 20 mins just to take care of the difference and no offer to make it right. First and last time shopping with Academy."

"Great place for all sporting needs. I visit frequently for fishing tackle and the occasional new rod or reel when they are on sale or better clearance. Got my latest pole on my last visit with this Lew's Mach Smash spinning combo that was on clearance for $48! Also get a lot of softball equipment and items for my daughter's all throughout the year at Academy. Store is always clean and staff is always very friendly and helpful."
