"Four of us stopped in around 6 o’clock for dinner on a Sunday night. They were fairly busy, but it did not take us long to get seated. Our waiter brought tortilla chips and a small bowl of salsa for the four of us. He was very friendly and took our order. While ordering drinks we asked for queso. After the drinks came, we asked a second time to make sure to bring a dish of queso. It never came. I ordered chiles rellenos (chili peppers, stuffed with chicken and cheese). My wife ordered pollo el rey My dish tasted very good. However, the substance in the center of the pepper was cold. The pollo el rey was extremely good!"
"I usually only do good reviews but unfortunately this has to be said. They charge extra for the mild sauce for the chips. The hot is ridiculously hot . Ordered shrimp enchiladas with green sauce and wasn’t told of the extra charge for that or we would have left immediately… to top it off Waiter never came back to see if everything was okay or I would have told him they put red sauce on instead of green … maybe we’ll give them another chance …"
"This is on my "Top" 10 list of Mexican restaurants in Highlands County, Florida... On the lake restaurant has an oasis of colorful Mexican artwork featuring the Aztec culture... From the time you enter, you can feel the love that was created for the guest, while the hostess greets you, and you start to walk through the history of the dishes you're about to consume... Our server immediately brought their famous chips and salsa to start off our flavorful adventure... We ordered the guacamole appetizer to start and OH Boy!!! I knew we were in for a treat... Ordered the salmon salad and the chicken fajitas that made me sign up for a permanent guest membership... lol! My guest and I totally enjoyed our experience and will be back with our friends.... Big Shout out to Alex our server and kudos to the staff and management...."

"Don Jose Mexican Restaurant in Sebring had a beautiful atmosphere and view of the lake. The service was spot on and we enjoyed our lunchtime. The wait time at 11:30 am was very short and there is ample parking for everyone including wheelchair parking. The entrees were very tasty and prices were reasonable. The fried ice cream was far too hard and difficult to eat; however it had a nice flavor. Would definitely recommend and will return."
