"Place used to be great but since they got rid of some of the crew with the new owners it hasn’t been a good experience. Food has went down hill big time. The calamari rings used to be delicious but after the new owners took over they are smaller and give you less. They also have a different taste like cheap frozen calamari. The hibachi used to be great but the salmon has been darker with a very strong flavor as if it’s not fresh. I haven’t tried the sushi since so many reviews state they’ve got sick after eating here. I once at here 3-4 times a week but I’ve only been 3 times since the new owners took over and it was a disappointment every time. Don’t recommend anymore."

"This place will be around for a long time, and it will stay, that I have no doubt! They do have some kinks though… Which they probably won’t work out, because they are in a small town. If you like spring rolls or egg rolls, stay away from the spring rolls here they will leave you In disappointment… They have this weird Breading taste to them… It’s got like too much bread in it, which is really weird because it should just be a wonton… More breading than meat and other fillings. If you try them, you’ll know what I’m talking about. It’s really weird. However, freshness of the vegetables were outstanding, along with what I can only assume is homemade Yum Yum sauce! Which was also amazing! They don’t understand the difference between appetizers and a main course, my appetizer came out at the exact same time. My lunch came out:( Which was very unfortunate because I couldn’t actually enjoy my lunch, Nice and hot. I did order a steak, medium rare, and it basically came out a little over medium! So you might want to say rare Or just say three minutes on one side and three minutes on the other But the flavor on it was great! Fried rice was good too. They definitely have a lack of service issue, I had a young Asian lady taking care of me today… And not one time other than to give me the bill that she check up on me… Not one time did she asked me if I had everything I needed, how is the food, NOTHING! She just gave me my bill:( They are also lying on their website, they do not have sake, nor any other drinks, other than soda and water. All in all the portions are good, and the food is pretty damn good! It’s also nice to be able to get this kind of food without having to wait for a table to fill up with seats! And the prices are really good as well! Would I go back… more than likely! As much as I am a steak lover, I would probably go back for the veggies and that addicting Yum Yum sauce. I’m only giving it three stars, because my steak was overcooked, a lack of service, and the spring rolls were just horrible!"

"The food is alright, didn't really hit the mark. In my photos you can see that there is essentially no difference between the chicken fried rice and hibachi chicken besides adding some vegetables. Having smaller veggies added to the rice and more variety would improve the taste. This might just be to save time and cost. Other menu items I've had just don't taste authentic. It is the only Japanese style restaurant in Defuniak, so it's the best we have for now. Service is good and they are always timely in my experience, just wish the dishes were tastier. I have yet to try some of the raw sushi, but the tempura shrimp roll was pretty good. I'll be returning but I would like to see improvements."

"Atmosphere was great. Please remember if you are visiting in the next few weeks this is a new restaurant and will need time to figure out what works best. Our server was a sweet young girl. It is her first job so mistakes are understandable. Timing on getting food out in the correct order or remembering what comes with what meal will get better with time. For now our family will be going back for the sushi. It was phenomenal. Their Jalapeño poppers (sorry no picture, family ate it to fast) were very tastee. Also a must try."
