Reviews
"Recently moved in from out of state. Katie Wright was very instrumental in make it a very smooth transition. She went out her way with setting up our apartment. Thank you for the Southern Hospitality!"
"Horrible, horrible place to live. Absolutely not worth the money I’m paying. Maintenance requests take weeks, laundry is ~$400 a year, and management has never been on site to help. They never answer the first call if you have questions/concerns and the residents are so loud (you can’t even submit noise complaints because of the lack of management). If you’re looking for an apartment, look somewhere else."
"Part 1 Living here used to be nice, but when it fell into new ownership, it went downhill fast. They started by trying to raise our rent from $815 to $1350 because they were renovating all the apartments with slightly nicer interiors, cutting down trees, and adding some awful outdoor seats. They also forced all tenants to throw out their own grills because they were installing a public one in a terrible spot by the pool. We even got our lease handed over to a new realty company with only two days notice and new conditions to live under. General Living Conditions: Laundry here is about $1.95 to wash and $1.85 to dry, but the dryers are really weak, so they might have to be run twice. Maintenance is slow and might take weeks to fix something that poses serious health concerns in your apartment. There is also no communication between the maintenance and the realty company, so you will never be notified about when repairs will actually happen. The most you will get is “between monday and friday” and at some point in that week a maintenance person will walk into your house. We also had so many incidents that never got taken care of properly. Move-in Issues: We moved in as-is with the promise that all appliances would be fixed or replaced. The only thing that was new was the fridge that looked like it came from another apartment, slightly used. The stove was rusted and missing parts for one of the burners, there was a missing towel rack ripped off the wall of the bathroom, and a few other things that we were promised would be fixed like rusty closets and broken blinds. None of these were touched and we lived with it for a whole year. We even had to put our towels on the back of the toilet or walk to another room for them. The Door Incident: One of the first things they did when starting renovations was replacing all the doors. When they did this for our apartment and apparently many others, they cut it too short by about three inches. This was in winter of 2022, so a constant draft was getting through. We called to have it replaced and after about three weeks, they finally fixed the bottom, but left a draft coming from the sides and top. In the time that it took them to fix it, both people living there got sick, someone with a leaf blower sent dirt, leaves, and bugs under our door, and we were told about five times that they would "fix it no later than tomorrow". Every time they told us they would be there tomorrow, we would reserve the day to wait for them and not go out shopping because they never gave us a time and we had to put up our cats. By about 6:30, we would give up and by that time our day was wasted. The Laundry Incident: During December, after the University let out for winter break, they shut down all the laundry machines with no warning. They were apparently getting rid of mold and bugs from behind the washing machines and doing repairs on the pipes. This took them about a month to do and we had to drive to a laundromat that entire time. Throughout that period there was no notice of when repairs were going to be done or even after they finished. Shortly after the repairs were done, the washers were down again for another two weeks. The Plumbing Incident: Our apartment started flooding one night at about 9pm. Raw sewage just started coming up through the bathtub drain and the toilet overflowed with water. We called to have someone come fix it, but they were so focused on fixing our neighbors’ apartment that they never scheduled anyone to come and fix it. It took them three days to even hire someone to look into what was wrong and see the damage to our apartment. In that time, the whole apartment reeked, we couldn’t use our bathroom, didn’t shower, and had to drive to campus just to pee. Once they finally came, they only cleaned the tub and left us to clean the rest of the apartment ourselves. There were other major concerns. Continued in part 2."
"Property Manager doesn't respond to complaints. They let Maintenance come into my apartment and renovate without giving me notice, and while they did so locked my cats in my room away from their food and water. Money was also taken. When completing renovations both in and out of my apartment they mishandled my things, causing damage. They take no consideration of comfort or safety of residents. When cleaning or renovating they just throw things off the balconies into common areas. A sewer line broke and didn't fix it until they were reported to the City for health concerns a month later. In the on-site laundry, I have had things stolen out of my washer/dryer. And Laundry costs on average $4-6 per load. While they were renovating my neighbors bathroom, something caused my bathroom to flood and they waited 2 hours to call a plumber while water was actively filling my apartment. On the rare occasion they do notify you that Maintenance would be by, they would tell us they would be come some time on Thursday or Friday and no one would show up until the following Wednesday. Overall the last few months living here has been an absolute nightmare."
