"This school is incredibly low-quality. First of all, let's take a look at the moral. Many kids at this school are suffering from depression, and guess what? The teachers don't lift a finger to help them. Most councilors don't even notice if a kid says something depression-wise, but if they do, the kid isn't depressed. Second of all, the lunches. The bones in the chicken are very small and plentiful, serving as choking hazards for the children. The mac n' cheese can stay upside down in its carton for minutes at a time, and has qualities of plastic. Yogurt here is served as an entree. But, oh, we can't forget the teachers. Although some teachers here are respectable and kind and know what they're doing, a vast majority of them don't understand their subject. Once, my teacher actually had to call in several others to help teach the students simple geography. In class, many times we find ourselves copying down notes from powerpoints. Some of them are rude, and compare students to dogs openly. Finally, we get to the worst of it; the dress code. This school is quite infamous for dress code. If a girl shows their shoulders, instant office referral. Wearing those cute new shorts that don't show anything? Office referral! Did you rip your jeans? Office referral. However, these rules only apply to girls. Boys are allowed to wear whatever the heck they want, and the teachers don't even touch them! This school is a nightmare."

"The school has its upsides and downsides. There are problems, like every school has, here so I will just list the ones that I have noticed. First downside is the condition of the building. There are occasional power fluctuations (in perfectly good weather) that make the lights flash and computers shut off. In pretty much every bathroom there is some kind of graffiti whether it be writing or pictures it is there. An upside is that the TEACHERS that are there are very kind and care about our learning experience. However, the administration is something completely different. On pretty much every experience that I have had with the front office and its residents has been, sort of aggressive or tense. It seems as if they simply don't want to deal with the students or actually want to get them in trouble. The hallways are very crowded and the administration does nothing to assist that issue. Lunch food is relatively flavorless and bland however some things have received positive feedback from people. I think there should be a bit more (and I mean a very small amount) attention put on students behavior, but aside from that the students are relatively well-behaved. That is my review on this school and some of the personal record of this schools atmosphere."

"I am a student in 8th grade at dean rusk. It has a very good learning environment, and a great new assistant principle. I just wish the students would have a bit more freedom, and more school spirit. My lunch time is bad, because the lunch room is over crowded and there are no seats left. But over all, Dean Rusk is a great school!"

"I am a student at dean rusk and I find that the office can be rude or unresponsive some times. Teachers embarrass me in class and this makes my school expericance less of a positive one any way I hope it gets better for me. I am on my last year in dean rusk now and I can say for a fact that the new vice principal is very good and is making a difference in our school. My 6 years at mountain road elementary school were way below my expectations and in comparison dean rusk has a better atmosphere for learning. The reinforcement on school policy's for the school are understandable but some aspects of school have to be "fun" or the students will not want to participate or have good school sprit. I surely do miss the hat & pajama days that they had in our school system. Overall Deanrusk is a good school but has some aspects that have been over looked or need improvements in my opinion."
