Dacula Animal Hospital

"Let me preface this review with my family has been coming to Dacula animal hospital for a long time. I knew Dr. Montgomery very well and I have brought my families animals to his vet clinic up until his passing. The animal hospital is under new ownership and still has the same clinic name. My father brought one of our dogs to the clinic to be checked out because he was having some tremors, lethargy and wasn't interested in eating. The first vet he saw worked with Dr.Montgomery prior and was friendly, inspected him and did testing and sent him home. Test results were clear but our dog was getting worse by the day. My father brought our dog back in and they gave him an IV and ran more tests. The IV helped in the short term and more tests came back clear but I dog was still getting worse. 4 days have gone by now and he is much worse and starting to have seizures. My father immediately takes him back to the vet, they run more test, give him another IV and diagnose him with K9 epilepsy. They prescribed him meds and sent him back home. Next day he is even worse even with the meds and continues to decline and have seizures. Our dog eventually stops moving and becomes paralyzed. My father rushed him back to the vet clinic to be seen and was told that the vet he had been working with all this time was on his day off (understandable) and his partner was there and would be able to help him with our dog. The new vet (the partner) tells my father that they won't (not cant, wont) treat him anymore and that he will need to go to a particular emergency vet in Braselton to get help. My father felt totally abandoned and rejected. Our dog having continual seizures in his arms. He immediately rushes over to the emergency vet only for them to be closed! My father gets back in the car where our beloved dog started to take a turn for the worse. My father as a last resort went to another local vets office that was open, he explained the situation and they immediately helped him. They began running tests as fast as they could but our dog started to go into heart failure and died right there on the table. This might not have happed this way and our dog would not of had to suffer all that time if Dacula animal hospital had just helped my father. My father and our family are heart broken. This dog meant so much to my father. He was like a therapy animal. A child almost. My father is heart broken beyond measure and feels absolutely rejected and abandoned. The vets at Dacula animal hospital tried to figure out our dogs issues but we're unable to. They said they we're completely stumped. They did not charge my father after the first visit which was very nice but with everything that had transpired my family will not be returning to this vet office ever again. Dr.Montgomery would be mortified at this situation and would have rectified it immediately. Come to your own conclusion after reading my review about whether or not you want to bring your beloved pets here but know that your decision to go comes with a risk that when you need help the most you will be turned away. Rest in peace little guy."
