Hilton Garden Inn Albany

"I really wanted to love this place because of the fabulous in-room jacuzzi tub but there were just too many other things that put me off. The 1st was the price which I would expect from the Hilton in Atlanta or Albany, NY or if there had been a lot of free amenities. But no, that wasn't the case. $10 for one night of parking in their own lot! Breakfast was high end restaurant prices. Couldn't even get a free cup of coffee! Could have gone to the Starbucks in the lobby if I had gotten their btwn 6-10am on the right day. Then there was the room. It was huge but most of it was wasted space. One small luggage rack and literally nowhere to lay a second bag. There was a huge wet spot beside the bed that the maintenance guy blamed on the cleaning staff. My in-room coffee maker erupted and spewed water and coffee grounds everywhere. The TV remote was missing it's back cover and it's batteries. Sorry guys, the jacuzzi was awesome but I don't think I'll be back."

"Traveled to Albany GA. to attend a wedding. We booked the Hilton Garden Inn online. Great web communications. Arrived to a friendly staff, check-in was super fast. The rooms were very clean and spacious. This hotel has a beautiful river view and is located across the street from the Ray Charles monument, which in itself is awesome. Thank you for a great stay."

"PARKING IS NOT FREE - I did not realize this until I reviewed my receipt the next day because I was going off this listing - $10 to park. The rooms are run down, it smells "old", the beds are creaky and mattresses are old and very uncomfortable. The lobby is nice and the people were friendly. The Ray Charles Memorial Park across the street is lovely and right on the river. It would be a first rate hotel if they would upgrade the carpets and rooms."

"Not Hilton standards. The hall flooring had a 3 foot bleached circle. The plumping in the shower was exposed. The blackout curtain was torn. The toilet paper was thin and cheap. The toilet was dirty. The snacks behind the counter where marked up ridiculously. If I wasn't as tired as I was I would have left. The staff was nice and polite but not worth the money. The front door has no parking so you go around back to a blacked out parking lot not safe. Would not recommend"

"The hotel is a little dated but nothing terrible. “Coach” at check-in was very professional and handled the process flawlessly. After we left, I realized immediately that I left some items in the room and called and spoke to housekeeping. They said that they would locate the items and set them aside for me. Since then I have called once and was told they would look and call me back. No return call yet. I have called multiple times since then even leaving a voicemail on the housekeeping manager’s phone to no avail. This shouldn’t have been a difficult request knowing I called well before the housekeeper cleaned the room. I am a Hilton Honors member as I stay at Hilton properties exclusively and travel at least 2 weeks a month. Communication isn’t usually this difficult."
