"Came here to get a second opinion on my 2013 Toyota Prius. I had been going through the nightmare of going in and out of a different shop for the past month as they kept trying to pressure me into repairs I didn’t need that didn’t resolve the issue I was having. Spent 3k on repairs with this other shop before I decided they are not a good option. It didn’t take long for professional automotive to diagnose that my car has a blown head gasket. They explained that replacing the gasket is not a repair they offer since it almost always results in other expensive repairs and that I would need a new engine. Once I had time I did my research on my model and found that the blown head gasket is a common issue for a 2013 Toyota Prius with 170,000 miles and that if it was replaced it would probably just blow again. Unfortunately I didn’t deem an engine replacement as worth the repair and the technician I spoke with agreed with me. I’m glad I found a place that doesn’t pressure unneeded repairs. Sucks that my car is gonna be scraped but at least there is an end to the nightmare I have been living this past month."
"You know you're at the right repair shop when the lobby clearly hasn't changed since the 1980s, there's lots of cars in constant circulation out of the garage, and a dog older than dirt waddles out from behind the counter to greet you. Worked quick and efficiently, managing to replace my water pump and belt in less than 7 hours from drop off to pickup (which required moving the entire engine to access i might add.) Gotta minus 1 star because my initial estimate was ~$600 then on the morning of the appointment I was told it'd be ~$950. The second price was more what I was anticipating due to the car I drive making this job so complicated, but I made sure to disclose all of that before asking for the first estimate."
