Reviews
"I rarely ever leave reviews for any business, but I feel like this needs to be said. I asked for a transfer of care from the OB I’m seeing now due to communication issues with the office. I had them send my records to Women’s Care 3 weeks ago so they could review my records and let me know about scheduling. I wait a week… nothing. So I call and make sure they’ve received the records and they have, but they won’t tell me why it’s taking so long or what else they have to do to approve the records. Ok cool, whatever. I hear nothing for another week and a half, so I call again. Again, no one knows the status of my referral and once again, cannot get ahold of the coordinator to ask. They tell me they’ll call me. So they call my husband’s number twice a few days later, so he tells me to call them. I call to schedule and they let me know how much everything will be out of pocket for delivery and care etc. So I finally make an appointment for the upcoming week and mind you it’s been 3 weeks now since I had those records sent. I get a call two days later “Oh, I’m sorry I don’t know who you spoke to, but we NEVER approved your transfer.” So you ran my insurance, called my husband twice to schedule, told me it was fine to schedule, spoke with me about my out of pocket costs and scheduled me… but I was never approved?? So I asked why I was denied and she couldn’t tell me. She asked “Are you high risk?” I told her “I’m not, I have no other health complications and this is my first pregnancy so I have no history of complications what so ever.” She said “Well I apologize, but they didn’t say why you were denied.” I just said “ok have a nice day.” and hung up. I wasted three weeks waiting on them to tell me I could come see them and they caused me so much stress for nothing. I’m rightfully pissed off, and peeved that such a highly spoken of office would be so unprofessional. I hate to be a Karen, but this has really put a sour taste in my mouth and as a healthcare professional, I would never give someone the run around like this and not even sincerely apologize."
"I have never had a better experience and been more respected. Dr Puretz listened and asked all of the important questions, and I am now finally on track to treat my PCOS. Carey was very kind and Jackie drew my blood in less than 5 minutes. I am so relieved to be receiving the care I need and at a place I can trust."
"If I could leave 0/5 stars then I would. Womens Care was a consulting physician when I had my baby at Lakeland Regional. They were provided my insurance information by the hospital and additionally by me within a proper filing period. They didn’t file a $3300 bill with insurance for a year and a half despite multiple phone calls. When the insurance company denied the bill due to improper filing without patient liability they continued to come after me for the money for over 2 years. I have multiple recorded conversations from them saying they received the insurance information within timely filing but the manager never submitted the claim, a letter from the insurance company specifically saying that I am not liable due to their mistake, and an explanation of benefits from the insurance company saying I don’t owe anything due to their improper filing. Instead of owning up to their offices mistake, I’ve had to make a series of calls throughout the last 2 years with the insurance company, various Women’s Care employees, and collections agencies. This is still ongoing. No patient should ever be treated like this, especially when they have attempted to do everything right. It is truly a shame that people who work in an industry who’s goal is to help people could treat someone like this to cover up their own mistake."
"This is the best women’s care office! Highly recommend Emily Spangler. The office is so nice and my insurance (United heath care) completely covers wellness exam with no copay. Staff are so friendly. I never wait long and they get you in and out. Very organized. I always leave feeling great!"
"I wished I could give this place a better review, I really do. However from day 1, my experience has been horrible. I will try to give a very factual and honest review... When you first visit their office it becomes very clear the office is very money oriented, you must prepay your visits according to your insurance, and if you don't you WILL NOT be seen by a doctor. (Opinion: this does not feel like care and concern for me or my baby.) Another fact: the front office staff gave me a quote for what I'd need to pre pay for first 6 mo of pregnancy and told me I wasn't locked into that rate - then at second visit, it became clear I definitely WAS or I would not be seen by a provider. Additionally, last week I called the nurse (who will remain nameless), because I had horrible body aches. I was told to go to urgent care and get a test for flu / covid. When I asked how much Tylenol was safe to use during pregnancy, I was told "take as prescribed." (My opinion: it is not hard to check with a doctor to ask a simple question for clarity for a patient who is in excruciating pain.) Today I followed up with the same nurse I spoke to last week, and asked to be on a specific regimen of Tylenol to manage my pain (which i have been dealing with for 13 DAYS), because I went to ER yesterday and tested positive for covid. As you can imagine, pregnancy and covid cause SEVERE pain, body aches, and discomfort. The nurse responded "well I told you last week to go to Urgent care and you waited 5 days, and what did the ER doctor tell you about the treatment plan." My opinion: this is very condescending and rude. What she didn't know was that I did an at home test and had a false negative, plus there were other reasons I couldn't rush to urgent care right away. My other opinion is that checking with the doctor is not hard. Most doctors love nice and easy questions that they can quickly answer and move on with their day. My belief is that she just did not want to ask the doctor. She first told me she would have to schedule me a telehealth visit to speak to the doctor. (Umm for a quick question about Tylenol?). I said that is not happening. She FINALLY agreed to check with the doctor after I had to get snippy with her. Also, you should be aware that it took me almost two months or more before I was finally able to see the actual doctor. To anyone reading this, I want you to know that I read all of the reviews too before going here and took with a grain of salt. I figured I would formulate my own opinion and figured that some had a good experience, so maybe I would too. I TRIED to remain positive. However, unfortunately each experience with this office staff has me in tears, as I do NOT feel as though they have ANY care and concern for their patients. (I'm not referring to my doctor, she's pretty good, but it's the office staff that are the ones giving me such a hard time). Side note: the south location office staff all seem to like their jobs much more and I had a great experience there where I saw the Dr. Go there If you have to, and also can afford to prepay. I hope this helps you. I'm NOT one to EVER write reviews, but felt it necessary so that I might be able to help someone else."
