"Very close to the river is a great spot and easy to slip into while wandering the area. It's clearly a tourist spot, and that's okay. Our server was excellent and attentive. She gave us recommendations on lunch and we ended up eating way too much. The portions are pretty big here, especially if you order a sandwich. We started with the spinach dip, which was good but not great. The cheese was a hard layer on top that required the spoon to get into the chip. I also ordered a cup of chowder (the crab, I believe). It was also good but not great. It was more of a corn chowder than a seafood flavor. I probably should have stopped there, but I got the seafood scampi, which (again) was good. The seafood in it was clearly fresh and perfectly cooked. The pasta was good, but the artichokes were kind of an afterthought in the dish. Canned and mostly flavorless. The sauce was thin and less lemony than I expected for a lemon cream sauce, but it was good. I couldn't finish it. My partner got the Reuben with both fries and slaw. The fries were not seasoned (I tasted one). Salt seems to be a theme in a few of the reviews here, which I didn't see until coming to leave this one. A neighboring table recommended ordering extra 1000 island for his sandwich, and he said this was a good idea. Otherwise, the sandwich would have just been a lot of meat on dry bread. He did say it was good, though, and ate it all. Our bill was about $90 for all. It was a lot of food and the seafood was fresh, but it just wasn't great. That's to be expected of touristy areas, I guess."

"Salt please, salt! Service was great by our 7 year veteran server. She was honest with us about her opinion on food items. She also had a lot of patience with us as we decided what we wanted to eat. We started with mozzarella sticks, which came out more like triangles and were good. Then the crab chowder was delicious, definitely get that. We decided on a mushroom Swiss burger and the French onion dip sandwich. Both excellent however they and the side of fries were missing salt. Like… it wasn’t at all salted. We had to use the rest of our salt shaker into the sandwich, burger, French onion dip and French fries. Other than that, we have no regrets. Definitely that chill vibe we were looking forward to. My wife who doesn’t usually eat burgers fell in love with this one."

"Ordered shrimp and grits. Salty and too much gravy. The shrimp were cooked nicely. Also ordered catfish that was served with undercooked ff and cole slaw. Fish was tender. The batter was very good. The crab dip app is enough for 4. It was fresh and tasty but very salty..I think it was caused by too much old bay seasoning. Staff were great and the place is cute. Nice walk on the river from our hotel to the restaurant."

"The Cotton Exchange Tavern Restaurant in Savannah, Georgia is a unique and must-try dining experience. The restaurant is located in a historic cotton warehouse, and the atmosphere is simply stunning. The exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and large windows offer a glimpse into Savannah's past. The menu features a variety of Southern and American dishes, all of which are made with fresh, local ingredients. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits, which are made with jumbo shrimp, creamy grits, and a flavorful sauce. The fried chicken is also excellent, and it is served with a variety of delicious sides, such as mashed potatoes, collard greens, and mac and cheese. In addition to the food, The Cotton Exchange Tavern Restaurant is also known for its extensive wine list and its full bar. The bartenders are experts at making classic cocktails, and they are always happy to help you choose the perfect drink to pair with your meal. Overall, The Cotton Exchange Tavern Restaurant is a great place to go for a delicious and unique dining experience. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is stunning, and the service is top-notch. I highly recommend checking it out if you're visiting Savannah. Here is a unique thing about The Cotton Exchange Tavern Restaurant: The restaurant is located in a historic cotton warehouse, which was built in 1870. The warehouse was once used to store cotton, but it has been converted into a restaurant and bar. The restaurant's dining room is located on the second floor of the warehouse, and it offers stunning views of the city."

"This place was great! The food was delicious, the staff was kind, and the service was quick! The only reason I gave the food a 4/5 is because the crab chowder wasn’t very warm by the time it made it to us… that being said, it was still very tasty! Also, the Cobb salad was incredible. I was hesitant to spend $15 on one salad, but it was literally big enough for three people! Highly recommend this spot."
