Savannah Smokehouse BBQ & Brew

"A very nice barbeque restaurant in the heart of Savannah, Ga. Walking around downtown Savannah, I was looking for a place to eat and found this location. It is right near the corner of Whitaker and W State Street. The website for this location states, “Savannah Smokehouse is a fast casual, counter-service style barbeque restaurant serving the best-smoked meats and homemade sides in downtown Savannah.” There is truth to this statement. I felt that it had a friendly feel to it. The floors and tables are wood with pipe supports. White tile lines the lower half of the walls. The upper half of the wall is chalkboard-like sovereign. The menus are in a box to the left as you enter. The counter is straight ahead. The staff was very friendly and helpful when I explained that it was my first time. I ordered a sandwich with street corn. The food came out quickly on metal trays and was very good. Sauces are available on the table. The floors and tables were clean. The prices are very reasonable with sandwiches and a side for $12. Overall, it was a very nice experience and a good place to eat if you are in the area and want good food with nice people in a pleasant atmosphere at a good price."

"Kyle was very nice and polite and Noah was amazing in his attentiveness. Both of them were friendly and made me feel welcomed the moment I stepped in. You can never go wrong with the smoked sausage and fried okra, always a hit and the portions are enough to leave you satisfied but not stuffed. Update: amber and grace are great! Their customer service skills are definitely vital to the business. As an employee of downtown it’s hard to find food that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg for the portions, so my coworkers and I were so disappointed to see the side potions change but the price did not."

"First time in Savannah and landed on the Smokehouse. The people were really great there and Amber was outstanding! We got the three meat combo and everything tasted fantastic! The brisket was smoked to perfection and the pulled pork was really flavorful and expertly prepared. The sides were great and finishing it off with pecan pie was a master stroke! Hope to make it back here soon!"
