Old Forge Camping Resort

"Dec 1st,2023 My husband and I were to stay at the Old Forge campground, it was horrible weather out and I almost got into an accident on the back roads coming into Old Forge, by the time we got to the campground it was 6:05. No lights were on to light up the driveway or were we were to even go for our cabin. it was Pitch black and nobody around, so we had no idea what to do it was our first time ever to come to Old Forge. When we made the reservation we were never told that late check in the paperwork would be hanging on the door. We even tried calling the emergancy line 5 times with no answer my husband then said why don't we try in the village and see if we can get a hold of someone for the campground. By the time we got to a hotel I was super nervouse because of the dence fog and rain that I just wanted to stay at the hotel. We found out that the hotel we were staying at Waters Edge was the sister hotel for the campground. The lady at the front desk said that the campground would most likly give the one night fee for the campground seeing we are staying at their hotel.. she also offered to take us to the camping ground but again being as bad as it was out I just said no we can stay here for the night. So I called the campground in the morning and asked if we could stay at the hotel it had been pouring rain all night and nothing but mud at campground. They said no they will not refund the night so we paid for 3 nights staying only 2. They will never see me or my family every again. For a small town feel this campground is rude and uncompassionate about the situation. I could understand if I said at a motel that was not affiliated with the campground at all but we didn't. Just beware staying here.. they don't help at all... And they will forever lose my bussiness and I will forever tell everyone I come in contact with exactly what the first impression was for this compground."

"As a first time every being to the area, my husband and I enjoyed our trip. We did NOT stay for the resort activities or to socialize really. We came to get a cabin in the woods for a long weekend with our dogs. We arrived on a Saturday evening and the whole resort was active. Loud music at the lodge we could hear from our cabin and drunk guests at every turn. Luckily most guests left by 11am Sunday. Our Sunday and Monday evenings felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was perfect until 8am Tuesday when the cabin next door was getting a new roof.....that spoiled our morning and we just left early. The lodge shop has almost anything you could need and the camp fire wood they sold was reasonable. The restrooms were kept quite clean as well. While the beds were not the most comfortable, we enjoyed our trip and hope to return next year, during the week for sure."

"We stayed here over the weekend they were doing Halloween themed stuff. Decorated very nice, had a hayride for kids and costume contests. My kids enjoyed themselves. The only thing I didn’t like were how uncomfortable the beds were. Definitely have a stuff back now lol otherwise, everything else was nice and clean and a lot of fun."

"This place is clearly a cash grab. If you're looking for a relaxing, peaceful camping experience, avoid this place. Cabins are in bunches of three and too close. You feel like you're on top of your camping neighbors, and they're on top of you. Loud music was heard blasting across the sites all day. Even after "quiet hours". Bathrooms were clean but only two toilets and two showers for everyone in the area to share. If you're going to enchanted forest, they have a convenient shuttle to there. Overall, good for beginner campers. Bad if looking to be in nature and relax."

"I have been taking my family here for years. It has become out yearly camping spot. Its perfect distance from town and has perfect sites for camping all the employees are very nice and helpful. They have a beautiful lake for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and a small beach front for the kiddos. Definitely would recommend. Wildlife is so friendly."
