We thoroughly enjoyed each session, the interaction with the other families and most importantly, Dr. Kahane’s guidance, knowledge and intuition. Dr. Kahane has many, many years of experience and it is truly reflected in this program. "A word of warning to the parents looking into this office. Unless you’re extremely wealthy and well off, don’t make the same mistake we made. Spent thousands of dollars before finally getting our daughter paired with a psychologist that would require thousands more. Cutting our losses and moving on. We’re extremely disappointed as this was not what was promised in our initial conversation. POWERS and one on one coaching seems to be a promising program but who can afford it? And even if you submit it to your insurance company with their itemized bill, you may not be reimbursed much since there is an “allowable amount” that is calculated at 125% of what Medicare pays, which is then paid out at percentage according to your coverage. Edited to respond: the fees were not fully disclosed. I was told that counseling/coaching sessions were $200/session only to be paired with someone that is $390/hour. When asked for a different counselor closer to that price range first promised, I was told to do weekly for the first month and then twice a month thereafter. I decided not to move forward, cut my losses at over $3k before my daughter even got any coaching sessions that would be beneficial to her. POWERS summer camp was minimally beneficial as all it did was introduce what POWERS is."

"Dr. Kahane has been a Godsend! My daughter has always been a sensitive kid but developed separation issues and severe anxiety a few years after my divorce. My ex and I found Dr. Kahane online and called for an appointment. She heard about our story and knew she would be able to help so she added on my daughter ASAP due to the acuteness of her symptoms- we were desperate. Our daughter went from suffering "bellyaches" almost daily, tears from the moment she woke up on school days, panic attacks any time she she would leave us and excessive crying before soccer practice to being her fun-loving self again. Dr. Kahane has helped her understand her emotions and learn how to express herself over the course of 9 months. My daughter has gone from seeing Dr. Kahane weekly to now seeing her every other week. My daughter thoroughly enjoys her sessions and looks forward to them as part of her routine. I know the skills she has been learning helped her through these acute issues, but will also help her through the rest of her development and life. I constantly find myself saying "I could have used my own Dr. Kahane in my life growing up." My ex and I also meet with Dr. Kahane for private parenting sessions via zoom which have been excellent. I cannot thank Dr. Kahane enough for everything she has done for us. I look forward to eventually joining POWERS parenting in the future when my schedule permits."
