"I have gone back and forth on writing this review for literally two years now, but as I'm currently shopping around for a new dentist thanks to the damage that was done here this much later, I can't ignore it in good conscience. While the facilities and customer service at this office are great, as well as the option for Saturday appointments, I am dealing with severely damaged teeth two years later. I had a few minor cavities that needed to be addressed, but Dr. DiMaggio recommended taking care of several other potential cavities. I trusted his recommendation, and ended up with more than 5 teeth drilled into. One in particular gave me trouble badly enough that I went back to Dr. DiMaggio concerned about the lasting pain, and was told that unfortunately sometimes this just happens. I was confused, because I hadn't had any pain or discomfort in that tooth prior to the filling, so I requested my x-rays and sought a second opinion from my dentist who isn't local. He was shocked that there had been any work done at all. He couldn't even determine a single cavity or spot of concern on the tooth, which now was facing a root canal. I ended up needing a root canal and crown on a tooth that was perfectly healthy before I came to DiMaggio Dental. I did find another dentist to take care of the issue, but even now I believe that the unnecessary work done on my teeth may be the cause of some residual issues I wasn't experiencing before. It's extremely upsetting. I would exercise caution prior to choosing this dentist, and perhaps get a second opinion on x-rays if you are considering getting cavities filled. I can't say with certainty why Dr. DiMaggio would drill into teeth that didn't have cavities that showed up on x-rays (based on another dentist's second opinion), and I'm not intending this to be an intentionally brutal review, but when I saw that all of the other reviews were positive, I felt it was important to share another experience. Dr. DiMaggio's bedside manner is kind and understanding, and I want to be clear that it's possible this was an oversight on his part. But, after I'd expressed concerns and requested x-rays, etc. it would have been nice had he acknowledged a mistake."
