Reviews
"The best place for African hair braiding. Courteous, considerate, kind and thorough! The good news is Fatu, she was great and did not braid my hair tight. I love my braids!!❤️"
"This is an amazing salon. Kady and her team take their time on your hair. It is worth the time and money. I will be going back again."
"I have been going to Kady for over a year and it is the best braiding salon I’ve been to! Kady has helped me maintain my healthy hair as I have been growing it out. One of the main reasons I LOVE Kady’s is they don’t braid tight. The salon is very clean which is something I really appreciate it. They professional and braid very neat! I highly recommend them !"
"The service and styling was amazing until it wasn’t. I’ve gone to this shop for a few months before I had an unsatisfactory and unprofessional experience. The stylist that had been doing my hair to my liking for some reason could not get it right on this particular day. I always aim to do two things regarding getting my hair braided, the first is to only use one hair braider at the shop, the second is to always to have a picture/video of the styled that I want so I can have it for future reference. I showed the shop owner and stylist the video of the braids that this very same stylist did herself two or three weeks prior. The stylist attempted to braid my hair at least three or four times because I was not pleased with the finished product, based on the video I presented. The owner jokingly said “it’s Ramadan, give us a break we are tired”. At this point I reminded her that this was a business transaction, not a free handout and that business is business despite their religious practices. The owner tried to show the stylist how to fix it several times and finally agreed to do it herself but once she took out my braids she refused to braid my hair. After two hours of my time being wasted and rudely spoken to, being yelled at in multiple languages, I came to the conclusion that I was not going to get the desired results that I was paying for. So I left Kady’s Braiding shop and went to Coumba Braiding on 132nd street and Lenox which the owner of that shop has been doing my hair since my last time to Kady Braiding Salon on April 7th, 2023. I’ll never go back to Kady’s again but not because of the lack of braiding but the lack of professionalism that was shown. I try to keep the same hair stylist/braider as long as I am pleased with their braiding/customer service but people have lives and things happen so hair braiders rotate shops and shores rotate hair braiders. If you find a good braider and who is also a professional l, the do your best to keep them but remember that they are (the shops) in the business of making money and don’t ever down play the power of your dollar. And leave a review so the rest of us can know who we are dealing with business wise."
"I’ve been a client of Khady’s for about 2 years. she is great! she does not pull my hair to cause bumps on my scalp, she does my knotless braids just as I ask (I change the sizing), she is gentle, great energy (important who you let put their energy into your crown) and is just a nice person (she does not have this attitude some stylists do where their way is the only way nor does she have that bias most African braiders do towards Americans). her pricing is fair (I get knotless down to my rump) and I don’t feel like I’m being ripped off b/c of the length I want. I definitely recommend her for braiding. I for sure am sooooo glad I was introduced to her. I won’t let anyone else touch my hair, ever!"
