About the Business

Unregular Pizza

Unregular Pizza, located at 14 East 37th Street in New York, is not your typical pizzeria. Inspired by the flavors of Rome and born out of a creative outlet during the COVID-19 lockdown, owner Gabriele Lamonaca crafts decadent pizzas in the signature Roman style, including the iconic Burrapizza topped with a whole burrata. What sets Unregular Pizza apart is their unique bartering system, where Gabriele exchanges his delicious creations for homemade treats from friends and followers. This spirit of community and connection is at the heart of Unregular Pizza, as they continue to offer weekly barters to lucky followers, building a community of barterers across New York City and beyond. Experience the taste of creativity and community at Unregular Pizza.

"Very happy to find Vegan options. The guy who served us was so helpful and knowledgeable about the pizzas and ingredients. Great experience"

"REVISIT: Okay, so seeing rave reviews that have appeared since mine caused me to give the place another chance. Maybe they just were off their game starting up, or I'm not ready for Roman-style pizza. This time I got the grandma again first—I did like it more than the first time, albeit still in a more *intellectual* like 'huh, that combination of flavors is interesting' rather than *visceral* 'UNNH I love this give me more!' On the other hand, the fried pasta a la vodka I got does have that cathartic appeal. So, splitting the difference between my first and second visit, and considering the high's and medium's of my second visit, I'm increasing my review from 2 stars to 4 stars. ORIG. VISIT: Truffle mushrooms slice was kinda okay, but more 'interesting' than 'tasty'. However, the grandma slice couldn't hide behind unusual toppings—their tomato sauce, the core of the pizza slice, was not of a good flavor. The employee was nice enough, but who cares if the pizza's not good?"

"At the new location of @unregularpizza on East 37th St btw Madison & 5th Ave… it’s a beautiful space with seating. So you can sit down and enjoy all their spectacular delicious food… went with the mini Stromboli pepperoni- pepperoni, mozzarella, tomato sauce, spicy hot honey… then had the fried pasta bolognese- inside fusilli pasta, beef Raghu, parmigiano, mozzarella … both were so delish, fresh and tasty… all their stuff is amazing…. Definitely come check the new location… #meecheatsny @unregularpizza"

"Very solid pizza. Wasn't personally a fan of the burrata. Thought it was lacking in flavor, but maybe that's the norm for burrata (I don't have it often). Aside from the burrata, the pizza was very well made and flavorful. The crust was crunchy and not too thick. Had a strong contrast of flavors: slightly sweet, slightly spicy, slightly tangy. Would've preferred it without the honey but that's fine. I would come back to try many of the non-burrata pizzas. They seem really filling and honestly reasonably priced. Might update my review then."

"Very delicious! The crust has the perfect balance of crunch and chewiness. Very cool vibe, both in the restaurant and with the pizza boxes. Creative options, yet not gimmicky nor over the top. I ordered slices of the plain cheese, the diavolona, and the grandma peppina. Enjoyed all three, but the grandma slice was especially good."
