"Had a wonderful time for three nights. Kat was so nice and really goes the extra mile. So much fun hearing the history of the house and area from David. Breakfasts were perfect and winde and cheese the one night was a great touch."
"We recently visited the Hornsby house for the first time (8 Dec 2023). The staff and the home was unbelievable. The first night was wine and cheese with Tom. We sat in front of the fireplace as Tom took the time to explain everything about the home. It was truly amazing. The next morning we were seated in a fabulous room with other guests and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast prepared by Kat. By the time breakfast was done, we had made new friends. This was a truly amazing vacation and just for the moment it felt like we stepped back in time. Kind staff and plenty of memories. Thank you Tom, Kat and Lexi. We will be visiting again!"
"We were in town (Newport News) on family business for two weeks and once done decided to wind down and celebrate for a couple of days before hitting the road and we couldn't have picked a better place to do so! Kat, David and Tom were all wonderful hosts, each in their own unique way. Our breakfasts were gourmet amazing and very filling. We were able to see most of the rooms and they were all great but ours had a large private balcony on the second floor and a terrific gas fireplace, as well as plenty of sitting room for four. The convenience of everything being within walking distance was an added plus. We would highly recommend this place without any reservations."
"We stumbled on this inn doing a web search on places to spend our anniversary and it was PERFECT. It is located right in the historic part of Yorktown and a block to the water. The room was gorgeous and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and we were even treated to a history of the house and of Yorktown. We will definitely be back and are recommending it to all our friends."
"We love staying at the Hornsby House. David is wonderful in his knowledge of the house’s history and the area’s history. The team is happy to help you and make you feel comfortable and welcome. Everything is perfect! The carriage house is where we stay since we have a dog and it couldn’t be more accommodating! Grew up in Hampton and surrounding historic areas so it’s awesome to be able to visit here in the heart of Yorktown whenever I’m back to see family."
