Holiday Inn Express & Suites Harrisonburg – University Area, an IHG Hotel

"Amazing view over the valley to the west. Squeaky clean and new looking hotel. Great lobby. Lovely room. Very friendly employees. Bathroom is nicely appointed just needs 1 or 2 more hooks and a nightlight. Breakfast is a bit cheap. Wish the quality of the omelets and the bakery items was better. Even the muffins are much too sweet. Yuk. Whole milk is much healthier than fat free. Green bananas are inedible. No trays to bring breakfast upstairs. Why?"

"This location is incredibly clean and well maintained. The area is quite busy, being close to many shopping areas and JMU University. Despite being so busy, the staff has incredibly helpful and staying on top of everything! This location is the best ones we have stayed at and we have stayed at many."

"Beautiful new hotel. While a new/progressive style choice, I'm not sure how I feel about the freestanding front desk stations, which leave front desk staff vulnerable and don't provide quick access to supplies, like bath towels, or to a way to quickly communicate with housekeeping staff regarding late check outs, extra items requested, or any special requests. The young ladies at the front desk were welcoming and sweet when I checked in around 8:15pm as well as while I roamed to take pictures of the hotel. I was impressed with the beautiful pool area, even though I didn't use it; it had great lighting, a shower for before you get in, and lounge chairs. There were a lot of workers staying at the hotel, who stomped across the floor above us and slammed doors around 5 or 6am, but we were able to go back to sleep. The housekeeping, breakfast, and front house staff I encountered in the morning were friendly. Breakfast was the standard IHG weekday breakfast and everything was well-stocked and clean; I have no complaints. The front desk AM shift girl was very nice too. However, when I asked to add a King Size Bed and High Floor to my preferences, the GM wasn't unprofessional, but he wasn't very friendly either. Also, while I requested and received a late checkout (12noon), I still received a call from the front desk at 11am to see if I needed to extend my stay because I still had my DND sign on the door. The entire property was clean and well maintained, as expected from a hotel only two years old. Overall, I would stay here again."

"No complaints from me as far as this hotel goes. It's nicely updated and modern. The rooms aren't the biggest I've ever seen but are more than adequate with nice beds, a solid TV, and nice bathroom. The continental breakfast is above average. The staff is super friendly as well. The only slight issue is there is kinda limited parking if it's a super busy weekend - but all in all this was a great place to stay."
