Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

"I have been here 3 times trying various types of menus they offer. I want to start with the positive. I love the nice interior. They keep the restaurant clean. I came in with their carpet cleaned but have not completely dried one time, so I believe they are continually maintaining a clean environment for the customers and for the workers. I haven't had a chance to dine in yet, so the service I received were the ones at the counter. I had good experience most of the time. The only thing I had was their host's tardiness. I came in close to their opening time at 11:05, but there was no one at the front. I would assume it was a one-time situation, but I was a bit lost who I needed to talk to because there was no host nor anyone at the counter when I arrived. All my rating is based on takeout experience, so my opinion might be skewed. I usually eat my side salad first when I start my meal. The salad dressing was a delight. It was a nice way to start the food, so I expected more from the other menu that comes with bento box. I did not find their menu amazing for their price. Since the food menu is pricier than many of the other hibachi & sushi restaurant, I have hoped there would be something unique from Wasabi's menu. Ingredients and menu in Bento box were mediocre, except their side salad. I would assume Bento box was never meant to be takeout. I also had their chirashi and probably because of my expectation for the price I paid, the quality was mediocre at best. They have okay rice, but their rice is not seasoned properly for their sushi. I still have not had their hibachi, and I want to give this place another try for their dine-in hibachi experience because of its proximity to Liberty University."

"Gorgeous restaurant with a fantastic vibe (I just wish the customers would dress more for the environment!). We went for our 10th anniversary and it was definitely an excellent choice. We loved the food. We had never done this sort of thing before and were so entertained by the chef. He was cracking jokes and performing tricks while he cooked the food. Highly recommend the Lynchburg roll if you are into sushi! We also got sake and enjoyed sipping that along with our meal. Well done all around! Portion sizes are huge and you go home with lots of leftovers."

"Always excited to go here. Love their sushi, their house ginger dressing on their salads, their soups are always hot and flavorful. Yumyum sauce is the best around. Every dish I have ever gotten here has been fantastic. Sometimes the waiters are hit or miss. But the food is always on point. This is my favorite place to get sushi. I highly recommend the highland roll or the shrimp tempura rolls. Soooo gooood."

"Welp where do I start? My tooth is now loose because there was a bone in my steak. Food arrived cold. Shrimp had a fishy bad taste the pineapple upside down cake martini had no alcohol in it and didn’t taste good. When i told my server about it she didn’t apologize or offer a refund but offered my next meal to be free. Which ill never come back so thats a waste. Also ordered 2 shots didn't arrive till 20 mins later after i told them the second time. Honestly i didnt want a refund i just wanted to let someone know about their poor service but server never got the manager. NEVER AGAIN"

"Sadly we skipped the full experience and had a waiter serve us. Faster seating, but cold steak and shrimp. Salad dressing was separated and I ate my entire dinner with only a half glass of drink. Disappointed."
